sega comments on update for VF5 for PS3

i doubt it will happen just because VF isnt that popular outside of japan. the only reason its online for the 360 is because microsoft wants online play or some type of online feature for all of its games. not only that but microsofts online community is much larger than sonys. more than anything id love if sega made a patch that made VF5 on PS3 version c.

the reason i dont think it will happen though is because this way if people really want to play version c theyll buy another copy of VF5. not only that but most people who own PS consoles really dont care for online play or online features. they usually buy a PS console because of the great selection of games.

so if VF isnt that popular outside of japan then why would sega bother making a patch for the PS3? when VF probably hasnt sold enough copies outside of japan to warrant a patch for version c. not only that but like i said sony caters to its japanese fanbase before anyone else. i dont think PS3 owners in japan care if VF5 gets a patch making it version c.

since version c is already in arcades. the good thing though is that PS3 owners have got to play VF5 a year before 360 owners. im still playing VF5 on my friends PS3 because VF5 still isnt out yet on 360. in my opinion it wouldnt be worth making a patch for sega because not enough people play VF5 right now outside of japan. not only that but i think resistance is the only game to receive a patch so far for the PS3.

not enough people would download the patch since VF5 probably hasnt sold well outside of japan. i could see if it was DOA or tekken since those fighters are more popular outside of japan. i do hope online play makes VF5 more popular. i just want to play version c and playing it on the 360 might be the only way you can. unless you travel to or live in japan.

 

Bro, why do you always seem so negative about this? This gives us hope for ps3 owners! I'll be glad to see a patch, then everyone will be on the same playing field. All this hate needs to stop. I just hope sega does the right thing.

 

im not hating. i just dont want everyone to get there hopes up for nothing. im being realistic. how long has VF5 been out and it still hasnt got a patch. what makes you think that theres going to be one now? your still playing VF5 right? while 360 owners still have to wait for the game. not only that but this is the first time xbox owners will get to play a VF game.

i swear some of you just dont want VF to be on a microsoft console. get over it. arent you already playing VF5 while 360 owners are still waiting to play it? Aoimaster didnt you also ask me about the falcon chip in the 360's? meaning your probably thinking about buying too.

Back on topic: this gives me a lil' bit of hope although I'm still really skeptical. It seems like it would be a lot of work, only to satisfy the really hardcore 800 or so of us "hardcore" VF fans. Maybe 800 is an overestimation too... :>

Agreed dude. Try not to make every topic a 360 vs ps3 ok. I like my ps3 just fine and I am fine with its upcoming games. It all comes to preferences really. I generally buy all console of a gen anyways. I gotta delay getting a 360 though till next year as my funds are short.

 

420, we don't know what happens until it happens. The fact that you keep cheerleading for the 360 isn't making the PS3 fans happy, and the fact that you KEEP GOING ON AND ON isn't making anyone else happy.

You might be right, and the 360 version will be right, but you have no tangible or visible proof aside from your speculation and the more you keep telling us you're right because you say so, the more you look like a stupid flamer with little else to do. Stop trying to bash back at people who criticize you and consider we MIGHT JUST HAVE A POINT.

Back to topic:

I think the PS3 update is a great idea for the people who are playing at home especially in the States, and if people are vocal enough, it can become a reality. Besides, with the response VF4E got for PS2, it can't be a bad idea. That's probably the reason VF5 got sent over in the first place.

If you can make your voices heard, do it! Because if they see that as a viable opportunity, maybe they'll keep things rolling on the 360 end as well.

 

Like most people, I mainly just want to see a Version C patch for PS3. Online play would be nice to have, but is not a necessity. The ever-present "lag" prevents it from being anything more than "practice" and "casual".

 

sorry if it seems like im rooting for microsoft. i just got fed up waiting for games to come out on the PS3. i mean it did cost me 600 dollars and i didnt buy it for blue ray. i also started getting tired of games being made better on the 360. thats why i decided to sell my PS3 and buy a 360. i did say i would buy a PS3 again when theres more games to play.

i think both consoles are great. i just think as of right now id rather have a 360 because thats where the games are at. i think the PS3 will be better in the long run. especially when game developers get more familiar with the PS3. right now its easier to make games on the 360. thats the only reason why the same games on both consoles are better on the 360 for now.

by the way some people want to play VF5 online lag or not. i personally just want to play version c.
