Shouldn't Sega USA be financially backing this sort of thing. It's a decades-old corporation, not some garage stand. It shouldn't be asking for donations from its players. :\

  3. Sega is too deep in the money hole atm. Anarchy Reigns is a big title developed by platinum games that was supposed to be released in July. Sega didn't tell platinum and went on twitter saying it was delayed till Q1 2013 when a truckload of competition will have good games by then. Platinum games was beyond pissed and went on twitter saying they had no idea of this till now.

Sega announced weeks before they were stopping the development of a bunch of titles and only sticking to core franchises. AKA sticking with safe bets and I bet Sega realizes delaying a game to that date hurts it but it takes money to launch a game as well.

Sorry for the long irrelevant reply but Sega is in worse financial position than ever before regardless of Sammy merging with Sega. I know paying for a stream tournament is zilch and should be easy for them but you can see with all the problems they are having right now why they aren't inclined to do it...

This is irrelevant to the topic. SOA doesn't have the tools for streaming and has always relied on IPW, Level up, etc to provide that service for VF5FS events. Who is streaming games for Capcom and Namco is the states? You guessed it. IPW, Level Up and other event coordinators and NOT namco and capcom. Please don't post things like this unless you have your facts straight. Thanks...

Sort of a hella dumb thinking that Sega wouldn't be able to scramble up 300 dollars to promote their 15k tournament period at Evo period. No need to sugarcoat it.

300 dollars? First of all Jaxel said $300 to ship each way. Last time I checked $300+$300 was $600. Let me know if I missed something but I think my math is correct here. Second, afaik, they are asking here on VFDC if someone is willing to stream. I'm sure they would be willing to help compensate the costs for whoever it ends up being.

KiwE.. why does it seem like every thread you post in, it is something negative?

That's great and all, I read it wrong. Maybe they could contribute half or something though. Either way the key point is that they're doing VF on evo for exposure and already put a lot of money into it. A stream would really help and be in their interest if that's the case as it reaches out to more people. If they don't see that this is in their best interest I feel they're lacking awareness.

Because you don't know or understand me would be the short answer. We also view things very different and are probably different as people. I think you confuse passion and a preference of being brutally honest about things (I'm guessing you are upset about me talking about SFX in VF or the WNF low attendance) with being a hater or troll. I love this game and it's my favorite fighter if there ever was any doubt.

As a person this seems different from you who edits posts where you're upset in hindsight to sound better (WNF and against me now) and for instance telling Rodnutz in the shoutbox to keep his opinions to himself about that he doesn't like the game as people look up to him. I love this game and you have no idea how much I'm working for it; have you even totally missed how I've praised you for what you've done for FS since it's release also? People like to think that they can't make a difference but they're wrong. In this day and age anyone can make a huge impact just streaming or doing specific things and if there were 5-10 people like you actively working for VF the ripple effects could be amazing.

P.S; Do you think me posting tech in the Pai, Brad and Blaze forums fall into this category? Cause that's what I've been doing lately if you look in my posts. I'm also trying to organize all the people in the Nordic area in several threads of this site (and it's going well). I'll be traveling 3 hours to a local fightinggame community (deep into the fierce SF4 pits of hell) in order to try and teach people how to play the game. Hell I've even gotten shout outs from people like Haunts in streams for helping him learn the game. So no, I'm not your enemy or someone who doesn't want this game to prosper.

If you're talking about me needing to change how I sound and shouldn't be calling people 'dumb' and so on then you're absolutely right. There's no need to use a certain tone or sound arrogant.

Not calling people dumb. I am trying to filter out negativity because it doesn't help anybody on here, especially new members. Sega has done more for VF outside japan in the last 6 months than in the last 16 years combined and some people on here, including myself really appreciate it. Digital titles also don't have the budgets like Aliens or Sonic so why not just try to look at the brighter side rather than nitpicking every little aspect that could have been done better. No one is perfect.

I haven't seen your character posts as I have only been checking certain forums lately. Thank you for your contribution and I am sorry I haven't taken a look yet.

As for VFDC in general, this is a forum open for discussion. If you don't like something about the game, express your opinion about it. There are things about FS I don't like either. But the same goes for VF5, VF3, VF2. They are still all great games in my opinion. I didn't tell rodnutz to keep his opinions to himself and I never criticized him for his opinion of the game being wrong. I was eluding for him to stop fishing for sympathy as he kept mentioning he is going to quit. We heard this same story about a month or so ago about not going to evo. Remember? At the end of that discussion, he said he saw how his influence could affect others opinion and said he was sorry. Yet again, on shoutbox yesterday it was the same thing. Why? The game has only been out for 2 weeks so far. Do you think it's possible that we haven't all mastered the game yet? It took japanese players two years to play FS how they do now. Maybe it's a little arrogant to assume we can do the same thing in two weeks.

Rodney is a great human being and I consider him a good friend. He is one of the nicest, most considerate people I have ever met and if it wasn't for Virtua Fighter, I wouldn't have had that opportunity. However, we all have things we can improve in and I hope he sees that again, he could be influencing people to drop the game.

Also, I am not a mod so I cant edit posts.

MODS: can we please move this stuff to a side topic, thanks!

  9. Yeah true my bad it actually is irrelevant to the topic. Glad things are being organized for a stream though. Now that I think about it you're right that community members stream anyway. I can't recall any other company streaming their products tournaments at western majors.
