YESSS! A new Bayonetta, the game kicked some real a$$, and VF as well. It seems to be a great time to be a long devoted Sega fan.

 

I'm only down with another Bayonetta game if Kamiya is involved, too many of his games have been shat on by other developers.

 

Marza Animation Planetis did a very good job with the "Night of the Werehog". It would be great if they make a CG short movie about Virtua Fighter, so it would be more easy for casual or new gamers to be familiarised with VF5FS. Or they can make promotion movies, like Capcom did for SFIV and SSFIV.

Anyway, I hope to hear good news about VF's future tommorow. And of course I'll be extremely happy if SEGA announce Bayonetta 2 !

 

Not hating on Bayonetta with this, I think it's one of the better/best action games of its genre. I just hope it has more playing time this go around. I felt like it was too stop and go with all the cutscenes and there wasn't actually all that much fighting compared to other games.

 

Sega published it, Platinum Games developed it.

 

There was nothing wrong with the playing time because the replay value was enormous. After the first run there was so much to do to complete the game. That's the best part of the game actually : when you skip the cut scenes and focus on the incredibely deep gameplay.

Arcade Floodgates Could Open if Game Sells

We promised Virtua Fighter news from our inside source, and here it is. In addition to the other nuggets we’ve reported in recent days, the source–the same one who confirmed to us last year Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown would be coming to consoles in the first place, we should add–says it’s taken this long because Sega will tie in the home release with major news next year regarding its flagship fighter.

Specifically, our source says that around the time of Final Showdown‘s digital release, Sega will formally unveil its next arcade hardware, along with the next Virtua Fighter presumably running on it, simply called Virtua Fighter 6 by our insider. If it pans, if nothing else, it’s good to see that Sega still believes in the arcade as a viable gaming option.

In fact, we’re quite lucky to see Final Showdown come West at all. Our source says a retail release was originally planned, but Sega West insisted on a digital release, weary of trying to strategize a more formal launch. That may be why, despite being released to XBOX 360, another Sega fighter, Virtual On: Force, was confined to Japan, so says our tipster.

If that’s not enough reason to support Final Showdown when released next Summer, this should be: Our source indicated that should VF5FS sell well, the company would consider releasing Border Break on both XBOX 360 and PS3 similarly through online distribution. Border Break has never seen a domestic release, and it’s not clear whether in such a situation the release would be limited to just Japan.

We’re not done yet. Tomorrow, we’ll give you an idea of what else Sega could bring to current consoles from the Dreamcast era, as well as whether the company may go deeper into their IP vault for re-release consideration.

Too bad VO:Force was Japan only...

 

I hope they re-release Virtua Fighter 3tb, then I might be able to retire my dreamcast.

 

What's to say they don't do what everyone seems to be doing these days? Virtua Fighter HD Collection.

 

I completely agree with the bolded part. Which is why I wish there was more of it. If you play, quite literally, ANY, other game of this genre, it has more time spent fighting/controlling the character. Be it DMC, God of War, Genji, whatever.
