[IMG] Sega released the second in a series of planned trailers to promote the console release of Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown.

The first trailer featured Makoto Osaki and Daichi Katagiri. Coincidentally, the newest trailer features Chibita, who this past weekend won Kakutou Shinseiki VI - Japan's National VF Tournament. While the video was made before Kakutou Shinseiki VI, there are definitely interesting comments made in the video - including the origins of his nickname and what play style he likes/dislikes. Check the video out and when VF5FS console version is released, play against Chibita himself online!

      Oh My Gosh!!!

Can you Imagine playing against Chibita's Lion?

Pretty sure he'll get a PS3(if he already doesn't own one) for VF5:FS but, Hope he'll get a XBox360 too, so he can play some of us XB360 owners.

I like how he describes the loser's bracket.

I like how he takes issue with my play style.

I like how 85% of people play like that [IMG]

      *EDIT*
That's cool he'll jump online sometimes. I wouldn't expect too many oversea matches (unless someone joins his game) cause them are just way too laggy to enjoy. It's like playing on a HDTV without using 'game mode' hahah, it's terrible.

But that's awesome that he's helping promote the game. Never woulda thought. Maybe they'll fly some players here for a tournament or something sometime and have em play locally and online. Doubt it, but, just sayin.

"I dislike players who create distance between their character and mine" - I think he'll hate SF4. Congrats to him for winning KSIV.

Do u guys remember how fudoo described his style? Mid distance defensive type. :) two strongest lions with different approaches.

Think he might have played VF5 online back when it came out, had a Japanese Lion player called Chibita join my game a few times in ranked a good few years back.

I had no way of telling if it was him and the matches were too laggy for us to play, only going on his gamertag.

not to rain on anyone's parade, but while it sounds great on the video no pro or SERIOUS Japanese player is going to play online. They didn't didn't play Vanilla even with their God like internet speeds in Japan and they won't play this one. It's all marketing fluff to sell the game. At most they will play maybe the first couple of months for shits and giggles. If they play longer then they are most likely paid to.

Actually they were. But those pro JP players were only for casual. As long as the netcode is good, maybe more and more JP players will jump online. As far as I know, there are a lot of strong SF4 players currently online still.

Maybe there are more coming interviews with famous players.

Really enjoyed the interview. Afaik, Sega emphasizing the competitive aspect of VF for marketing is unique for any game, and even outside the fighting genre in a game like Starcraft or Quake there's almost no mention that there are tournies from Blizzard or ID way back when.

I scanned it quickly and couldn't find the match. Just a lot of commentary in a language I honestly can't understand. I'm sure it's a great video if you know what they're saying.

As an aside, it's interesting that these guys really look effeminate. I'm starting to understand why Jean and Lion look the way they do now in the game.

er, they didn't play it because it was already out of date once the console versions hit...

Me too and it made me wonder how many other great players dislike that backdashing shit too.
I find that players, like Chibita, who don't use backdashing so much are a lot more exciting to watch. They make it a point to outguess their opponents with an attack or throw and smother them with offense without giving them that breathing room that can potentially set up a boring stepping match.

I dunno; I get excited when I see very inspired stepping in a fight. Like, what's going to happen next, oh man, whoa man!

Nobody likes "turtlers", no surprise Chibita doesn't either.
