Now this will be just perfect:

Sega AM2 announced they have begin the development of Shenmue III: Special Edition, the platform is undecided. The game will include Shenmue I, II and III altogether as one package, to allow players to grasp the entire story of the series.

    Source: magicbox

All three games in one? eh....

Maybe it might be on the PC or PS3, like a next-next gen console..............this sounds really iffy.......

Then again, VF Evolution was announced by sources other than Sega for months before Sega did, so (some of) this might be true.

Is magic box the only site that has this?

*IF* this is true (I should call tonight and confirm), all signs point to XBox - they've already got SM2 ported there (but unreleased in Japan!), and that was the most likely direction indicated in our interview.

I seriously doubt it'll appear on X-box - unless it's a multi-scew release. This title should be big in Japan as well as the West, and considering the tiny number of X-box's sold over there I can't see the logic in Sega making it an X-box exclusive.

Then again, this is Sega, and that's precisely the kind of dumb decision the retarded managment would make.

I'd personally love to see the series reach as many users as possible - so Playstation 2 or multi-platform is what I'd like to see. And before the X-box fanboys jump in....yes, Playstation 2 CAN handle Shenmue, it just needs to be programmed with care. Evo proves that PS2 is a competent piece of hardware in the right hands.

Not to get off on a side note (too late /versus/images/graemlins/smirk.gif), but what about GT3, and MGS2, better graphics then Evo imho.

    - - - -

Now in regards to the platform, why do you think that VF4 was released on PS2, to sell the most copies (yeah!!), so most like I would think that Shenmue III (if it exists) would be either multiplatform, or PS2 (maybe PC to....) exclusive.

It would be really nice if this is one of the PS2 projects curently in development, but that is probably not true....

I searched on the internet, and couldn't find anything about this (aside from magix box), so does anyone have another (better?) source....

No need for you to check up on it Zero.
The magicbox source is a fan wishlist that was published on the shen mue site if im correct.
It was just a Japanese fan stating what he would like most for a possible SM3.

I found it funny there was no mention of it on Video-fenky, which is pretty up on these things. I'm gonna mention the text to the PR folks anyway - if they want to they can correct it themselves.

Actually, I should check the SM site myself...

EDIT: Well, THIS didn't take long.

Hint folks, never take seriously information from a site that gives you popup for Internet Washer Pro and Gator spyware.

www.g-rev.com used to have ALL the news...before ANYONE else... even the big guys. Looks like they've stopped and are only doing reviews and previews. /versus/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Anyways, I would like to see this on Xbox for graphics, but on the PS2 for sales. If you dig around though, AM2 bitched a lot about the PS2 in terms of Shenmue. Well, they said it would be a LOONG time before they ported it, saying it would be a massive undertaking due to the different architecture. I got the impression that it would've been too much work to call it a "port". I guess a new game might be another story.
