Shenmue moves, animations, influences in EVO

I wasn't sure if I had to post this topic in the general board or Junky Jungle. I decided to post it here since it concerns EVO...

Anyway, I got the chance to play EVO this week end and found the game great. Playing this game made me think about Shenmue and especially Shenmue 2.

    I found that:

    - Akira's elbow animation after [1][P]+[K]+[G] is exactly the same as Ryo Hazuki's [6][6][P] in Shenmue 1&2. They end up in the exact same position. Different from Akira's regular [6][6][P].

    - Lau's [2_][6][P]+[G] looks a lot like a throw of Eileen in Shenmue 2 (secret character you get to fight in Shenmue 2)

    - Goh's Tsukami and Aoi's push throws seem to be a development of Ryo's new standard throw he learns in Shenmue 2 from the kung fu school master (the one where you decide in which direction you throw the guy)

There must be other influences and animations I have missed. I always thought that Yu Susuki used the free battle in Shenmue 1&2 to test ideas that he wanted to implement in the VF series.
