You wont find many people who played it here since most are located in the US where the game has not released yet.

Well, I managed to see it once not too long ago. I couldn't really understand anything, since I can't read the language, but the game itself looked great. I'm hoping that Shining Soul makes its way to the States fairly soon. Good, original GBA games (not SNES ports) are really hard to come by.

whey, i never knew this thread could be slightly VF related, but check this out...

Kage Maru from VF appears in the game's town after every dungeon, he's a cute little sprite like the people of the vilage, and he's wearing some kind of red scarf around his neck ^^

    After the first dungeon
    --------------------------------------

next to the wepons shop, he stands behind a gate with his arms folded, you can go up to him and obtain a herb.

Kage (not accurate quote) - "i'm Kagemaru, and i visit here from time to time, i come from a far away place, and i bring you this gift *gives herb* goodbye! *dissapears*

    After the second dungeon
    --------------------------------------

kage is seen in the same pose hovering in a circuit around the town, once you catch up to him, he gives you a rare item.

kage - "WHAT!? how did you catch up to me!? etc etc (then hands me a rare item and dissapears)

lol, his sprite design's pretty funny /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif

those are my exact thoughts on the GBA, it's especially dissapointing seeing as i have most of the games on my snes already ._.

but hey, if you liked phantasy star online, shining soul is more or less a handheld version with alot in common (and the ability of playing through the entire game linked up to four players) .. basically, you choose between one out of four characters, and four colour types for each character, and you can obviously type ur own name for the character:

    WARRIOR:
    ----------------

kindda looks like a generic main character to any shining game (as you could easily picture it), concertraits on close range attack, uses a sword, axe, and spear..

    SOURCERER:
    -----------------------

the only female in the game, concerntaits on magic and distance range, can use al elements (fire, ice, thunder etc)

    DRAGONAUTE:
    ------------------------

half dragon, half warrior, uses and axe and flail (ball and chain), concerntraits on close range attack and is very powerful, but very slow.

    ARCHER:
    --------------

looks completely like link from the zelda series, concerntaites on long range attack, and can use apear, and arrows..

i think the main aim of the game is to go around completing dungeons, and gaining exp to build up your character, every time you get a level up, you can choose how to balance you status how you want it, i.e adding points to attack, def, evasiveness, etc (like treasure's guardian heroes on the saturn)..

you eventually upgrade wepons and items how you want and team up with four friends to battle through the game (like PS online) you can trade items and wepons, but some only can be used by certain characters, for example, a new sword can't be used by an archer, so you can either sell it, or give it to a friend ^^

it has a nice story to the game too which i'd rather not spoil for peeps, but IMO the game is worth getting if you have friends to play it with. there's always the option of importing the UK version if any US are that desperate. (which is completely the same anywayz)

    laterz,
