i agree totaleee. i bought my USA dreamcast and vf3-tb the day it came out and it still rocks. i have had no problems.

the evade button was awsome. i now have the PS3 and vf5. killer graphics but no interaction with back ground like vf3-tb. in vf3 you had to adjust you stategy to match the landscape. Lau's wall or jeff's island or shun's raft which reacted to each players weight all the backgrounds were unique in vf3.

I agree so much. The unique stages with different heights, slopes, etc, were so dynamic, much better than the stages that were introduced in VF2, VF4, and VF5 - square stages :/. I, too, miss the evade button :/.

I never played Virtua Fighter 3 TB, but I have heard that Sarah sucked in Virtua Fighter 3 TB.

I tried to get into the game when it came out on Dreamcast but that was when Soul Calibur debuted and was by far my favorite 3d fighter at the time. I have a real bias for stylistics in video games and VF3 just didn't cut it for me in the style department at all. The game looked awesome when I saw it in the arcades for the first time...then playing it on the Dreamcast it just looked plain inferior. Not just because Soul Calibur looked better but also because the game was so rushed to release that the game didn't even look as good as the Model 3 arcade release and the Dreamcast was definitely more powerful than Model 3 hardware even.

I was also very dissapointed in the musical score for the game. Always have been a big fan of music in games and the one thing I really remembered from the first 2 games were the awesome soundtracks they had. Anytime you hear Jacky's theme in VF1 or Sarah's theme in VF2...you know it's time to fight. Nakamura and Mitsuyoshi really put together some epic tunes in the first 2 games. They were true magicians of the keyboard. VF3 had some decent tracks here and there but most were forgettable and basically were 40 second loops of music. They just didn't have the flare and dramatics to them that the first 2 games' music did. At least VF2 had a great extended remixed soundtrack for all the songs and even the shorter arcade mixes were really well done and memorable. I've grown to like VF3's soundtrack a bit more (some of the extra stage tracks are decent) but overall it doesn't hold a candle to the first 2 games.

The game obviously played pretty well but it just seemed too little too late with DOA and Soul Calibur seemingly more flashy and fun to play. It's funny cuz now these days I always like to look at old competitive videos for the game now that I've learned to appreciate it more. This is also after me and my friend decided to purposely scratch up and break my VF3TB disc because we just overall hated the game that much. It just seemed so cheesy back then. Now I've learned to appreciate it and the rest of the series a whole lot more. I always thought VF3 was the game that took the series downhill (and there were definitely some issues with the game that were reworked in 4/5) but it definitely was a great and innovative part of the series.

By all means, get the used Dreamcast and Virtua Fighter 3. That is why I bought my own because of the game though the seller gave me Marvel VS Capcom 2, King of Fighters '99, and House of the Dead 2.[/size]

The only thing I didn't like in Virtua Fighter 3 was Pai's special win animation(because of the stupid anime and some mangas which showed Pai in love with Akira. YUCK! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/sick.gif) after defeating Akira with an Excellent. Other than that, VF3 was a good installment.

By the way, I just wished there was a soundtrack to Virtua Fighter 3 without the characters' voices in the themes. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif

All that I can say is that there is more to the Dreamcast than VF3tb. You also have to look at the other games that you want with your Sega.

Yeah this game has to be my favorite honestly. We spent so much time on this game, even going way out of our way to fight comp that did not exist.

Good times. This game is what brought me to VF.com, well that and Blast City.

This topic has come in quite handy, as 3 is the only version of the VF (console) series that I've never played. Considering I already have a Dreamcast, and VF3TB is a rather inexpensive game, I'll probably try and pick it up soon.

I have a dreamcast and vf3, got it for a bit on the cheap side on half.com, I still play it every now and then. What's different about it, it includes Taka, the stages are uneven, the camera pans in cool ways at the beginning of each match, keep in mind that most of the characters are cheesy, even Sarah, this was pretty much the last game she had cheesy voice acting. Also has team battle, pretty much just arcade, team battle, vs, and records mode as well as options with voice and music samples. You can play as an alphabet character which u fight against when entering ur name after u beat arcade mode, when u beat it, there's footage that is basically the closest thing to a story mode which could be mistaken for an intro movie but its labeled as the ending. You can unlock dural and can the arcade version of the stages, plus the control scheme is a bit different, u have a look button that changes the view to 1st person and over the characters head, u have a dodge button, i recommend making the bottom punch button a p+g(throw) since that's what I do for all vf games, its easier for me, the left center button is punch, the top button is kick while the center right button is the dodge which is different for this vf game. Also the characters have items knocked off when fighting which I think is a bit cool. An enjoyable game that I hopes comes to xbla one day.
