I tried to edit stuff but it was taking too long. So I just decided to post..

 

Bits you missed at the beginning were how it all started due to a misunderstanding between Kamaage, Libertine and Tengu with regards to a Google translation, Rod asking what the secret to Akira was, which was single strikes and making them count (I think), and the three key moves he used were SDE, Youhou () and another with a long name that I can't remember.

There was a bit about the west and abare in which everyone was pretty much unified in that it was bad. Kamaage asked if we meant people constantly doing 2P, and the collective response was "No, any move regardless of speed, range or any other property". A mention of Jeff players who do another knee after a blocked knee instead of defensive techniques like throw escapes.

There was also a bit more to the Itoshun comments, mainly about how a winning percentage of 84% like his isn't hard to obtain if you pick your opponents, but since he doesn't pick his opponents, his win record is more impressive than it looks.

That's about all I can remember. I went to sleep at about the time the Vanessa talk happened, so I can't speak for anything after that.

 

Another thing was kamaage's answer to how to deal with abare players. He said that it was easy. Just use your frame advantage to counter hit them. In addition, he said that remaining passive and punishing their whiffs at range was a useful strategy.

 

this is already a known fact. The problem is most of our playing is done online, so using frames is pretty much still luck of the draw and punishing whiffs is dealt from the same deck. Until we play in more offline environments this advice doesn't really help us unfortunately.

 

Its a given. Usually Im talking about lag that makes even whiff punishing big moves an impossibility though.
