    Hello everyone,

Quick question, and sorry of this might sound stupid. I have just noticed that shun di in VF5 does not drink from his bottle (as in put the bottle to his lips) but in VF4 as far as I can rember he did. Does anyone have a logical explanation for this, or am I going nuts?

i think it is just being politically correct. i remember reading somewhere that he "acts" like he is taking a drink and being annoyed.

BTW, probably not to a good idea to name a thread after one of the names of the fighters. try and be more specific. something like "does shun actually drink" or "drink animation"...

    He does drink, doesn't he?!

His face goes red to show the affects of the alcohol, I remember in the PS3 version of VF5 they removed this. Pretty sure he puts the bottle to his lips in the Xbox 360 port and the current arcade versions, whatever you guys are talking about might be specific to the gheysation.

Thinking about I remember him putting the bottle to his lips in the PS3 version too, only difference I remeber was them removing the flushed cheeks that I mentioned in my last post. I think there might have been something in the manual about him not drinking alcohol too.

What age rating did they give the PS3 version? They might have made those changes just to get it down to a 12 age rating.

They probably just have the bottle go near his lips because animating mouth opening and bottle going in would be a pain..

No bottle in the Xbox 360 version. I guess the did'nt want people to think Liquor gave them a higher fighting prowess. To bad unlike Megamix you can't break the bottle.

If Shun lays on the ground he indeed drinks with his bottle.

In the Japanese version of Virtua Fighter 4 and Virtua Fighter 4: Evolution, when Sun takes a drink, his face turns a shade more red. Once you get to 40 drinks (aka shit faced) then his face becomes bright red, signifying that our drunken warrior friend is completely inebriated.

However, in the North America versions of VF4 and 4:EVO, Sega removed the color change in Shun's face. Why? Because it was a sign of him drinking...and apparently that was not appropriate for the American children to see.

I'm not sure how Sega handled it for VF5 but it was hardly a necessary change in the previous games. I mean games like Medal of Honor or Uncharted are rated T and you shoot people in the face in those games. The Ratchet and Clank series features a good amount of drinking humor as well and those games are rated T also.

VF 5 for the Xbox 360 his face turns red when he gets drunk, the ps3 version it does not. (last I checked)
