Side Low Throws

    In Vf3, it was possible to do a side low throw on an oopnent who had just missed (got blocked doing) a low sweep. You just had to evade to the correct side and hit all three buttons. The advantage was that the throw couldn't be reversed and did lots of damage.

    Is his possible to do in VF4? I really miss seeing Jeffrey's hillarious coconut crusher low throw.

    Side low throws are still in VF4 & Evo. Aoi, Goh, Jeffry and Wolf have for sure. I'm not sure about Vanessa. The command is [2] or [3]+[P][K][G] They can be escaped depending on which side by [4]+[P][K][G] or [6]+[P][K][G]

    You don't have VF4? What is stopping you? /versus/images/graemlins/confused.gif

    actually in evo ver. b at least, low side throws cannot be escaped.

    I know that they are in VF4. I just meant that there does seem to be a way to consistently execute them like there was in VF3. This saddens SgtRamrod.

    To answer your question, no.

    After blocking a slow recovering low attack, an attempt to evade will result in a slow evade, and by then you've lost your guaranteed window.

    You could try crouch dash cancelling the slow evade though, but I don't think this will cover enough sideways distance to be considered a side variant of a low throw.

    Also, there are some halfcircular low rising attacks which you can ARM around and net yourself a low side throw.

    The only time I have found this to work in any capacity is when I dodge a move that recovers low and I cancel my MC dodge with a crouch dash into low side throw...for Pai, this blows as she gets her normal side throw /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

    Wolf's low side throws are not escapable.

    Everyone else's are escapable (Aoi Goh Jeff Pai). Vanessa doesn't have low side throws since her's are catch throws (they whiff).
