SIFU vs Virtua Fighter Ultimate Showdown

VF5US e-sports is basically an big Online Mode. With focus on the hardcore competitive player. Lots of talk about rollback, netcode, online features, rooms, player invitations, tournaments, frames, matchups, yada, yada.

SIFU will be a new Martial Arts focused Single Player only game. No need to worry about:

• Lobbys
• Private Rooms
• Network Connection Quality (WiFI Hacks)
• Netcode (Rollback, or otherwise)
• Character balance issues
• Frames and Matchups
• Match Making Algorithms, etc.

There is so much anticipation for this game, that by the look of things SIFU is going to sell millions of copies in the first couple of months. Noobs, casual players, hardcore players, anybody and everybody that likes martial arts in video games, will likely buy a copy If the game is made well, it will probably out sell VF5US and VF5FS combined. What did the developers at SLOCLAP learn from their experience with online only (Absolver was originally mostly online) fighting games, that motivated them to make a Single Player Only fighting game for their second game. SEGA and RGG need to get a clue about single player content for fighting games;

 

This game will never not look terrible to me, and with Lost Judgment due out at the end of the month, it's a solid "pass".

 

But, SIFU is not a fighting game.

 

yea , you're right Its an action adventure game focused on the martial arts and using martial arts during a multiple assailant context. And the story revolves around martial arts lessons, and getting better executing your martial art as you get older.

It was probably posted for the benefit of casual players, noobs, and those interested in the simulation of martial arts within video games as opposed to those interested in how much frame advantage is necessary before a given guaranteed wall carry launcher that will reduce life bar to zero can be used.

The Jedi Frame Masters, Wall Damage Heroes , Rank Jockeys, and Combo Critics can usually safely skip (don't read, ignore, pass by, or click through) anything posted by masterpo and will probably not miss anything that they would be interested in.

On the other hand, those folks interested in Single Player, Martial Arts Fun will usually benefit.

Sifu? I've seen master po and others, talk about this Sifu game for a few months now. I am curious to see this Sifu game. Hopefully, it does not disappoint.

 

Sifu looks like Gen from SF Alpha.
