So cal party 2010 THANKYOU!!!

I just have to give mad props to plague for hosting again. And I got to thank all the people that came out.

Kobi: It is awesome to play against an aoi player not many people main her and I liked your reversal style on get up.

Matt: Your lau is a good high pressure on get up game and standing.

The brad player: I think you are pine tree on the forums not sure though good pressure and swagger.

The two jacky players: good aggression and speed.

Brisal: good speed and poweful combos always great to play another wolf player.

Plague and Katherine: good to finally play against katherine very potent pai with a unique style and tallis an over the top akira that is crazy hard to predict and insane combo accuracy.

I wish that I could have stayed for day 2 of the events but my trip had me doing other things. Someone please chime in and let me know how the singles went and the gathering afterwards at AI and LA's place went.

In future years that I hope to attend I will be able to experience more of it, since I got the so cal city pass exp this year.

I must say, even though this event was smaller than in years past, I really enjoyed everything about it. It reminded me a lot of the early 2000's back when SoCal VF4 events were just getting underway. Most of the action took place in the living room. Everyone was watching everyone else fight. Comments and questions abound.

Many thanks to those who competed in the main events (see the results thread). Many thanks to those who found the time for casual matches. Casual players included GoatCheeseBlues, Kiuju, and CIDKID (who did this awesome San Diego turn-around trip on Sunday night - three hours of driving for four hours of gameplay - I really appreciate that dedication).

Props go to Kobi for flying to SoCal and keeping that tradition alive. It all started in 2005 when Shag flew here to get in games with Myke. It continued in 2010 even with a depressed economy. The night I picked up Kobi from ONT airport had the same magic as every other VF event. It's that cool feeling of "The first guest has arrived! The party is starting!"

Non-VF related goodness:

Saturday night saw good food and camaraderie at L_A's place with a night of BBQ and UFC. We even got to catch up with SiLLyWiLLy and PhoenixDth.

Monday was a relaxing day at the movies for Prince of Persia and a quick stop at the local Nissan dealer to check out the 2011 GT-Rs.


Here's to FS coming home and a grand celebration in SoCal to welcome another era of awesomeness.

 

I want to thank Plague for having me over for some VF casuals, your one of the coolest VF players to date man. I would have posted sooner but the wifi connection sucked at the hotel. Also ggs to everyone I played at plague's house, lets all do this again when VF5FS comes out.

 

And one more thing, that drivefrom Plague's house back to San Diego was long as hell...good thing I took a 5 hour shot before I left.

 

Yo Cid, I didn't know you were in SD... What part of SD are you at man??? I don't know to many cats that play VF near me (near as in within a 40 mile radius)... Driving to Riverside is a mad long ways from SD though...

Yo Plague, I do plan on coming up there for the next big event. Got caught up with appointments during May this year ...

 

I forgot you were in SD, Jinx, take the not-so-mad long drive this Saturday.

P.S. CIDKID was just visiting SD at the time. He lives on the East Coast.
