So how was VF5 360 received in Japan?

I noticed quite a few new players online with low ping, low rank, and high percentages so I'm presuming this is the Japanese fan base.

Was their any buzz in the VF community over there on the release?

    Just wondering if anyone knows

Dont know exactly. but I heard from both shou and SHU that they both had to go to 4-5 stores to find a stick because it was sold out all over. Thats a good sign I guess. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Really hoping a ton of them get it, and get upset that they don't have access to all of the items and options of Version C and talk to SEGA and be like hay guys give us this, and then along with our wishes, walah, we get more content.

Or that they decide to do VF 5 Evo on the 360, at least as a downloadable patch if not more due to Japanese success.

I'm sure EVO will come to console. I'm just impatient, I want items, and bingo, and replays, and golden eggs, and chocolate rivers.

They're most likely making all of those available for the Japanese "Live Arena" version in December...

Why else would they wait so long?

So over 1500 xlive users has a VF5 in Japan.
It's over 3 times more than in Australia but 3x less than in UK.

Hard to judge as long we can check only xLive users.

Armored Core 4 has 6653 xLive users in Japan.
(Very good game, very popular in Japan, very underrated in the rest of the word)

Yeah - Sega is an expert of making very good and unpopular games.

    BTW:
    Blue Dragon: 18398
    Gears of War: 25465
Final Fantasy XI: 4523 (not too much)
    Halo3: 20142
    Ridge Ricer6: 14600

    Sega Games:

    Sega Rally: 122 (uuuu...)
    Condemned: 3021 (yay)
    Virtua Tennis: 778 /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif
    Phantasy Star Universe: 2715
    Armored Core4: 6653

    Dead or Alive4: 16514 o_O 10x more than VF5

It seems really bad for VF5.

Majority of humankind is not interested about challenging games, no matter what they say. This is why challenging netgames tend to die over time, leaving only a few experts playing with each other. Im quoting a friend here. For ideal games, I guess its all about having depth for experts to shine and still being fun to play when you dont know much. Something like golf.
