really nice job encoding these talis! everyone should take noted from you, the quality is nice and the playback is speedy w/out hickups on my older computer.

please share with us how you took the files from the PS3 to youtube so nicely!

Here's how I converted PS3 replays to YouTube movies:

    1) PS3 hooked to DV Cam via S-Video and composite audio. Recorded to DV Tape.

    2) DV Cam connected to Mac via firewire. Files recorded to hard drive via iMovie.

    Notes:

Each raw replay file was around 450mb.

Used iMovie to convert raw files to .mov files that were around 30mb each.

Video Settings: High Quality, Key Frame Rate = 150, Bitrate = 1372 frames/sec, frame reordering = yes, encoding mode = multipass, dimensions = 640x480

I left De-Interlace Source Video unchecked (I'm gonna check it and see if the quality is better - if so, I'll use it for the singles matches) EDIT: Testing shows better quality in the full size .mov file. I can't see much difference once it's on YouTube. Still, since I'm archiving the .mov files, I'll keep de-interlacing the source.

Audio Settings: Format = AAC, Sample rate = 48 kHz, Channels = stereo, Bit rate = 128 kbps.

    3) Uploaded .mov files to YouTube.

Great job in getting these out Plague!

As AkiraLove mentioned, these actually look great on YouTube!

The Team Tournament was one of my favorite highlights of the gathering. The atmosphere was super social while being very competitive and productive. Lots of open VF talk, lots of watching people play, lots of seeing different people trying to figure out the dominant player, tons and tons of fun and community. Team Tournaments are a must for all gatherings.

Having a team to cheer for, with, and by was just wonderful. I feel bad for not cheering on my teammates as much as they cheered for me (Matt K and the player I call Hebrews are the best!!!). Not only is Matt K an awesome announcer for the Singles Tourney, he's just as awesome as a teammate! TEAM RANDOM BABY!!!

I almost wish there could be two Team Tournaments in a gathering. The serious ice-breaker tournament where the teams are highly competitive but it's early in the gathering. And then the drunk-off-your-ass team tournament (minimum number of drinks for all participants) where it's just good old social fun, sparked by competitive spirit and fraternity. We just have to have all of the violent and flaming drunks identify themselves early on so we don't let them cross the lines :p

The compliment is certainly appreciated. Thank you.

Something I've noticed: Flash doesn't perform as well on Mac as it does on PC (at least on the G4's I have at my office - even Catherine's G5 doesn't run it as fast as a PC). I provided direct links to the YouTube pages as I've seen the vids play choppier on Mac (although audio seems fine) when viewing through the VFDC link.

Great videos and even more great matches! My only dissappointment is the lack of Wolfyness in the tourney.

    Maybe next time.
