guess what i saw in our local public bathroom wall

ANNOUNCING THE DEVOLUCÃÂON TOURNAMENT

(i dont think anyone will get the joke)

Due to the large number of people attending this tournament, Socal found a venue to host this thing.
Casa Jimenez, 3rd and Main, Pomona, CA

We are in a closed room away from other patrons of the restaurant.

Here are the Conditions
-Its at a mexican restaurant, and the venue is free as long as we buy food there.
-No outside food allowed.
-$10 for all you can eat food and soda
-extra for alchohol

Tournament Setup
-If anyone can bring some PS2's please bring some.
-TV and surge protectors
-VF STICKS
-We are aiming at 6-7 setups, including 1 projector screen
-Bring your GAME!

Tournament Scheduling and Rules
-Random Seeding saves a looooot of time
-Double elimination best of 3 matches
-Free play from 5-7:00 PM
-Final 8 will start at 10:00PM sharp, any spare time inbetween will be used for free play again, and setting up the Final 8 presentation.
-All players must save their replay FILES to make it into the DVD
-Free prizes to the top 3 winners.
-Everyone must have fun

EDIT) I am open for water matches, beer matches, mint matches, beef jerky matches, drink matches, Red Bull matches, Big Mac matches, or any other " you name it" matches with anyone who doesn't hate on me. I don't like hate matches. It's gotta be fun between friends. So, haters need not apply~


Format: First to 10 in a set. Prize can be any affordable food or a drink except money. I don't play VF for money.


Post up here before the gathering, and then you are in! =) This should be fun.

isnt 10 to a set a bit much? I think a it should be limited to 2 to a set so everybody gets to play each other. Unless noone is inline to play...just my $.02

Well, when we're talking about casual play it'll likely be either best of 3 or arcade mode. He's referring specifically to these special matches, which serve as great camera fodder. (a chance for me to goof off getting people's reactions, "CHEEKS IS MAD TIGHT" etc.)

Well, looks like I'm not going to make it out at this point. Too much school stuff to take care of to basically go into debt for a VF tourney. But I'll probably be out there at some point in the near future. See you guys then!

So how exactly does one register for this thing? Is it just a show up and play thing? This actually sounds like a ton of fun due to the fact that I can never catch the Thursday night AI gatherings and I finally have a chance to throw down with some damn good players.

Hmm, I may sound stupid but how do you save replay files? And is this on VF4 Evo on a regular PS2? And what are you speaking of when you refer to sticks? Sorry, not familiar with the game accessory terminology.

 

You can save any match in arcade, versus or quest mode by hitting the select button at the end of the match. You'll then name the file and save it on a memory card if you have one.

This game is very input heavy so most players use a stick controller to play. The official stick for VF4:Evo made by Hori can be seen here.
