I really believe you're so close to levelling up even more! Also, take heed of the (great) advice from Dennis regarding movement!

L_A - again, thankyou so dearly for the hospitality, hosting and transport. Along with Plague/HowBoutSum, you guys are the pillars of the offline community. Without your care and generosity, none of this would be possible let alone eventuate into such an awesome experience to be shared by us all. The setup, organisation and execution of the singles tournament was first class -- never once did games feel rushed, nor did people disappear and cause uneccesarily painful delays. The entire event was an absolute pleasure to be a part of, the tacos were bloody amazing and hit the spot after such an andrenaline fuelled event. Finishing off with more casuals and watching the UFC was the perfect end to the last day of such an amazing event.

GoatCheeseBlues - always a pleasure meeting up with you again. We shared many great (laughter inducing) games and conversations, especially about Soccer! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

CaliJared - first time meeting you, and I have to say that I was most impressed with your visible and speedy improvement over the course of the event. From when we first played to the day I left, I vividly recall watching you playing with various people and noting to myself how much you had improved. Not sure if you felt the same, but keep it up man, hope to have more games with you in future.

SillyWilly - next time I come over, I promise to have a list of really cool Aussie words and sayings for you to practice. Your thirst for Australia cultural exposure is <s>annoying</s>entertaining /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif Seeing you holding a carrot in front of the sleeping Yupa is an image that will, for better or worse, last with me for some time!

PhoenixDth - cool that you managed to surface towards the end, and as usual, it's always a blast having games with you. Good luck with your work and I hope you keep active with the game and community!

akiralove - the no.1 surprise of the event for me. Really awesome that you made an appearance, and it was a pleasure to get some games in with you and engage in some of our age-old yomi games! Glad to hear things are going well with the little one too!

Dre - yet another late comer! Nice catching up with you man, and those SF4 games were... well... time consuming! In retrospect we should have probably played some VF5, eh?

Pinetree - nice to meet a fellow Brad player, and I admire your dedication to drive out from Arizona. I hope our little Brad training session helps you along your way to getting more enjoyment out of the game! Good luck with the cabinet making!

Dennis0201 - shame on you for leaving so early! I'm glad I got to have at least one session with you, but I wish we could have played more. I really enjoy your style as it's so fun to play. sanjuroAKIRA - always an absolute pleasure to see and hang out with you again man. Breaking bread at Roscoe's with you and the engaging conversations we shared is something I'll keep for a long time. I was also really impressed at how far along you've come with Akira too, so keep up the training!

Yosuke - I'm glad you managed to come to SoCal again as it's always a pleasure to see you again. Thankyou for all the advice you gave me as I always feel that my game keeps improving when you're around. I really enjoyed our marathon after the singles tournament too. It was lots of fun just playing around with so many characters!

I really enjoyed our conversations and of course our games. It's been far too long between drinks, as they say. Your gameplay is rock solid and I'm proud to have played with you over the course of the week!

Konjou - ditto what you said, bro. And no worries about the Aussie jokes, I get it all the time. In fact, things wouldn't be the same if people weren't getting into the "down under" swing while I was around! Secretly, I get a kick at listening to people trying (poorly) to imitate the accent! Oioron - I really like watching your Kage because it's always a learning experience to watch someone else use the same character. You probably don't know it, but you reminded me of little setups that I had long forgotten or neglected, and after picking them up again, I really think they helped me along the way!

Chefboy - cool meeting another VFer from VA! Nice showing during the team and singles tourney and I think most people (myself included) were impressed with how you used your music for your focus. Cozby - another person that I don't know if I ever got to play? In any case, I always enjoyed watching you play. Call it creativity and just messing around, I could tell you enjoyed playing too and that's awesome to see. We had a brief chat about character selection, and so I hope you find a main (that you like) soon as I'm sure you'll go a long way with them!

Yupa - another dinosaur (like me), good to see you again man, and I don't know whose cough was more disturbing -- Flash's or yours? /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif That's the kind of sound one expects to hear on the death bed!

Johoseph - another one I missed!? I'm not sure when you started playing VF but I was very impressed by your command of Goh. And thanks for sharing the story about your name, it was hilarious!

KoD - man, another I didn't get to play? It was great to finally have met you and your beards /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif Thankyou so much for the High Grade mod, and the arduino controller. I'm currently taking a short break from VF, but once I get back I hope I put the controller to some good use! I'm grateful to have people like you in this community!

Air Jacky - meeting you is another tick in the box of former legends I've wanted to meet. I remember you from way back when rgva was all the rage, and it was awesome reminiscing with you about the VF3 days! How crazy was it that we probably played in the same arcade all the way out in Chiba? /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif Anyways, good games, and your confidence and bravery when up against the likes of Yosuke was commendable, if not hilarious!


You know, I sat on this report for a while because ultimately I just feel that it doesn't do the event and the fantastic people I got the pleasure to be around the justice it deserves. I truly had an amazing time and wish to sincerely thank everyone for making it all possible. I love you guys!
