Socal VF5 TODAY SATURDAY!! gathering 2/24

Seems like I am now moving this to a weekly gathering. EVERY FRIDAY or SATURDAY I will open up my place for some playtime.

February:
1st Round 2/10
2nd Round 2/16
3rd Round 2/24


Setup:
Location: Azusa, California
(30 minutes from Los Angeles and 30 minutes from Orange County, 30 minutes from Riverside)
between the 210 and 605 freeways
Setup will be as follows:
1 65 inch 1080p hdtv
4 20 in monitors
With possiblity of two more TV's being added
1 tv for Free Play on any other game I have. (SamShow Tenka, KOF X1, NEO BATTLE, 3rd Strike, and 360 games etc BRING YOUR OWN GAMES)

1 PS2 and 1 360 (for free play)
2 PS3 systems
4 Joysticks
2 VF5 games

So with a body count of over 10 we need some KIND Socal players to bring some more Ps3's, games, and joysticks.

Please let me know what you are willing to bring so I have an idea what to expect. This is turning into something HUGE and I guarantee some great fun.

Bring:
Yourself,a PS3, a copy of game, and Joysticks/Controllers

This will be a great way to get some much needed playtime before Socal Tournament #2

I am also opening this up for anybody that is willing to come to this gathering. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO LIVE IN SOCAL to join this event. I especially send out an invitation to Team Nocal. Maybe we can start a rivalry since your scene is growing as well

Lodging:
I will have 4 spaces available for crashing on Friday 2/23 if anyone needs a place to stay. There is also a Motel 6 that is only 3 blocks away. Please PM me if you need a place
to crash

Who's gonna be there? Reason for the early announcement is to get people interested and give people who might travel enough time to plan a trip.

Reason for the date (release for Japan and U.S. markets) is to give enough time for people to buy the game and get some joystciks.

I can only guarantee one game and two Virtua PS3 sticks. The amount of setups depends on what people can bring. /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Other than that it is open to anybody and Im glad you might make it EXM

btw I will be living in the Azusa or Burbank/N Hollywood area at this time

Well, I won't be able to go. It's my birthday the 24th, so I'll probably have plans...hell, I probably wouldn't have gone anyways. Socal is just too damn far... /versus/images/graemlins/tear.gif

Anyways, VF5 will supposedly be released in North America on the 20th of February, so anyone who's planning on going doesn't actually need to import it.

Sorry to hear you wont be able to make it. Feb20th makes this perfect. We should easily be able to get a few more setups.

Bring ur systems, games, and sticks. I'll supply the HDTVs /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif

It looks like CaliJared is getting me to attend. I haven't played VF since VF 3TB on the Dreamcast. And I don't own a PS3. I can bring my will to learn though, is that good enough?

ive brought this up with talis, about the other event. Having had a ps2 stolen before, what precautions are you taking with having guest ps3's secured in case we have new faces around. Considering what ive heard with previous evo and TiT events, i rather be safe than sorry. Call me paranoid, but i dont want to babysit my system for the whole night either.

I honestly dont think it will be a problem during the socal event. Put your name on the bottom of the machine to make sure you leave with the right one.

Got some information - turns out that homeowners or renters insurance policies often cover theft of personal property. Check with your carrier to verify. For instance: it appears that if you rent an apartment, own a PS3, take that PS3 to another home or apartment and the PS3 gets stolen, you are covered. Again, call your carrier to verify you have this coverage.

Here another idea.

Almost like bathroom keys at the gas station. Get a chain a big brick then some how connect that to your ps3...that should work /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Alex you have every right to be concerned about your hardware, but let's not degrade the interest in this event with something that has a 1% possibility of happening. Tag + Sharpie = problem solved.

Also it's kinda hard to steal something that I'm sure will be in use by everyone 24/7. (sleep is for the weak)

martin (dobi/pushku) told me that him and ticky (ironjunkie) plan to attend this event.
everyone do me a favor...beat this brad-using scrub to the ground. don't give him a chance to do his n00by sway tactics. don't keep it moral; just keep it rape. =)
