These are some random thoughts about VF.

    Imo

One can think of VF as being all about questions and answers. The question is always, "Can you avoid this attack/throw/damaging reversal/etc.?" And the answer is the opponent's response or current action, whether that's a defensive response like guarding or evading, or question of their own. What I love about VF is that the answers can be so diverse and can so quickly become incredibly complex (and technical), and it is a grey scale for correctness, as there is rarely one correct move or action, though you may find an optimum answer for a specific situation. And so often we can answer a question with another question. We can answer slow attacks with faster ones, or use other properties of one attack against another. A great thing about VF is the option selects and ability to maintain multiple answers, starting with the fundamental yutori throw escape system and reaching a point where we have an acronym like ECDTEG and beyond. The fun is in figuring out and utilizing every question and answer available to us.
