Some trivia on staggers.

I was feeling bored so I read some of the stuff on 1/16sec and I found some info that might be of interest to some. Do NOT read this if frames bore you.

There are 2 kinds of stagger(yoroke):

    1. Elbow staggers.
Staggers for 38f. Actual disadvantage is ~15f(for most elbow-class attacks) after discounting attacker's recovery time. Its possible to reduce this disadvantage by a maximum of 9f by struggling real hard/quick. So for most elbow staggers, the attacker gets ~6f of advantage if the defender struggles quick enough.

    2. Sidekick staggers.
Staggers for 45f. Actual disadvantage is ~18f(for most sidekicks) after discounting attacker's recovery time. Possible to reduce this disadvantage by 12f if the defender struggles quick enough. So for most sidekick staggers, the attacker gets ~6f of advantage when the defender struggles quick enough.

Jacky players should note that his [P][K](with left foot forward) recovers 5f faster than the common sidekick, so that puts his opponent at -11 even with fastest recovery.

    Thanks for that alucard.

Just thought I'd mention another special type of stagger which is for Vanessa's OS [6][6][K]. The general rule for staggers is that you can't be thrown during the stagger animation, but this move for Vanessa is the one exception and she can indeed throw her opponent while they're staggering.

Are there any statistics on butt stumble stagger animation?
It's definitely less than 12 frames of advantage for the attacker, but beyond that I don't know. I'm sort of wondering if for example wolf can do FC upper --> short shoulder or if the SS can be stuffed with a jab/d+P.

No stats that I know of, but the SS is definitely too slow. His hcb[P] which is elbow speed (14f) can be struggled and guarded (there's a training tutorial/challenge on this) so anything slower than that will have less chance of hitting against a good struggler.

Nonono, can you d+P wolf out of the short shoulder - that's what I'm asking. Of course you can guard it, the game would be retarded if you couldn't.

    Myke:
Thats interesting. This move looks like it has its own stagger properties and 1/16th says that even with fastest recovery, the defender is at -11. Isn't that [P] guaranteed?

    Creed:
Information on "butt staggers" can be found on 1/16, its in the remarks column(on the extreme right). For Wolf's FC upper, the defender is staggered for 35f if he doesn't struggle at all, it can be reduced to just 6f with fastest recovery.

No stats on back staggers or wall staggers?

What would Aoi's crescent reversals be characterized as? The mid one looks similar to the on-yer-ass stagger (Jacky's [6][6][K]) while the low looks a bit different.
