Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed

This comes out next week but Toys R Us' all over the country have been selling them a week early. I was thinking of picking it up today. Anyone else getting it?

How did I NOT know about this till now? Literally!

Obviously, my wife doesn't know about this (she absolutely LOVED the original one), otherwise she would be have made it known to me that this game exists, and that I should buy it for her at my earliest convenience (I.E. RIGHT AWAY!! ).

Looks good. I watched IGN's video on it. I wonder if it plays as good as it looks?
The original IMO was ok.

Ok, but still prefer the Mario man over Sonic and co.

My wife on the other hand, loves almost any kart racer you put in her hot little hands!
And Sonic and his All Star Racers are no exception.

Note: I had to talk her OUT of spending our hard earned cash on the M & M's Racing game for the Wii.


Anyways, will investigate further into this...perhaps even download a demo and see if its something worthwhile.
I like what I see so far though.

I picked it up yesterday for PS3. Definitely more fun and challenging than the past few Mario Kart games I've played.

Yep, hence the name "Transformed"...more than meets the eye. Hornets in disguise.

I haven't tried it, but the game looks fantastic.

 

Game is awesome! Bought it last month and just recently taking a break. Makes me wish I had online actually. Fanservice is top notch, as is the racing!

 

Wife keeps bugging me to buy it. Guess I will have to after the new year.

I wish they had some SoR and Phantasy Star in there. Nevertheless it's a really addictive game. I love how you can co-op the campaign mode. Also, lol at football manager character in the article posted.

Edit: Burning Rangers stage sucks.

 

I just pre-ordered this on Steam a couple days ago. The PC version finally got a release date of Jan 31st. My PS3 version has been collecting dust. I stopped playing about week after release. I wasn't feeling the framerate and washed out visuals. The Wii U version is said to be the definitive version and I still think its not great especially playing on the gamepad where visuals and framerate take an even bigger hit. Oh well my Wii U sux lol.

While waiting I've been playing the original Sonic Allstar Racing in 3D and its super crazy sick on the new rig I just built. It runs at a solid 60fps and is one of the highest rated games that play nicely in 3D.

Game is absolutely beautiful and there's just nothing better than driving with VF characters or Ryo. The new game has Wreck It Ralph and Danica Patrick. Horrible in comparison. Even though the tracks on Transformed are way more elaborate and busy the older tracks have a serious charm that in someways makes them better. Overall though Transformed has the best tracks of any kart racer. The original had a TON of original Sega songs to unlock and lets you choose before a race (something I wished Sega would of did for FS) whereas Transformed has newer remix type tracks that tie to single tracks so way less variety.

I'm still pumped for Transformed but its hasnt been guaranteed to run as good as the original or even play in 3D. I'm confident it will. And if it does that would make Transformed on PC the best kart racer ever made imo. Props to Sumo Digital if they can top the original.

 

I just purchased this game a few days ago for the X360. If anyone is looking for a few games online, I'd love to get in a few games.
