Well SF3 had tons of rip offs of old characters, it was just "well-hidden" because characters had moves of 2-3 characters and their animations and properties changed.

Yes its true. Street fighter lost Steam after Alpha.

I personally prefer EX2+a... It added what Alpha had, while still staying unique with Arika's added characters and system...

In any event, regardless as to whether or not the producer played a gangload of SC1/2, I just hope he realizes that he needs to keep and ear out for and enlist the support of unbiased hardcore players to make this game stand out the way it used to... As of now, it just looks like SF with weapons and 8wr...

From what I saw in the interview, SCV's taking the "easy to learn, hard to master" approach.

The best approach you can take in an FG, if you ask me.

It doesn't have the thing that I would want the most, VF's evade. I started playing Sc3 almost earnestly, and very quickly in actual versus I started to pull my hair off because the game has namcos sidestep.

And secondly: air recovery is ass.

Yeah I will give you that... The evade was harder to do, which I think made winning more worth it, but then after not being pampered with a good SS in either T5 or DOA2U/DOA3, the SS in SC3 was way better in some aspects. I do miss that SC2 SS though... It made the match faster imo, and you definitely couldn't just throw random moves out vs strong players.

Come to think of it, there were some issues with the JF Guard Impact where you could still get hit with A,A or B,B for some characters. Cerv and Sophitia were capable of doing this. People cried about the glitches, but those weren't even practical in a real match. It was more like both players had to do something.

Alot of that stuff was fixed in AE, but because it came out so late in the game, people didn't really care for it.

I agree about everything here except one. Street Fighter didn't lose steam after Alpha. What changed in 3S isn't the characters. Its the system. Im an SF veteran. I love SSF2T, Alpha series i even like SSF IV but as far as im concerned and as far as the majority of the oldschool fighters like myself are concerned. The best SF is Sf3 3rd strike. Its insanely fast, the parry system encourages creativity, its VERY aggressive and fast paced game. Unlike SSF IV you can't rely on large window frame for reversals or rely ON reversals for that matter, on series of 4 ou 5 links to hit confirm your things. You have no Alpha counters or push back. Its a highly concentrated footsies game with LOTS of MIX UPS. I do agree about the characters being kinda similar in playstyle to others but not all of them. Just take the Twins, Makoto, Twelve, Elena and Ibuki you c'ant really compare those to any alpha or SSF2T alterations. Anyways SF3 is really a great game which deserves a spot as one of the best 2D fighters ever created. Guilty gear XX slash and Garou being there also. At least IMO. [IMG]

OH and by the way i really hope that the orange glow is not for telling you the escape window for a grab. Its already so easy to tech in SC please dont make it that Noobish.

I haven't ever been a fan of the guest character idea but if they're gonna do it, I really hope there aren't console exclusives, and I hope they continue to fit the realm or other characters like Ezio seemingly will.

ehh. another cheap gimmick just to get ppl to buy SC5

Honestly if he functions just as the rest of the cast I wouldn't view him as a gimmick. Especially if he'll be available on all consoles.

I think being able to dress your character up in bikinis is more of a gimmick than this.

Why would Ezio be a gimmick??? He's just the same as having a character in the game, and then killing him/her off before the next iteration came out *cough* *cough* Li Long *cough*...

That whole "meter managing" should be considered the real gimmick... It's plain to see that they're trying their hardest to steal some of Capcom's fans by making a character that plays as a 2D character (Viola), and adding that whole meter thing, which is clearly not the same as the meter found in Soul Edge, I'm not sure they'll ever bring something like that back...

Anyway, sucks to be those players who devoted all their time in learning Apprentice... Can't wait to see Yoshi's new look... Real talk, it would be nice to see Zas make a return...

That conquest mode in the arcades should've been brought back with an online twist... Join a faction, and fight online to take control of a particular piece of land... It'd be nice to have some ranking system worked in there, too...

You speak like the company actually care about their fanbase, I think that died around the SC4 game. They will milk the fans for dlc that is clearly already on the disk (remember the hackers that found Darth vader on the xbox disk?)

Ezio is a cheap way to get more money from the AC crowd, and the fact they said the game will be more "accessible" for new players made me sick.

Why can't "new" players learn the system in place? Instead of the game changing to suit their needs?
