    Southtown Arcade Special VF5FS Tournament Series​
    This topic will be used to summarize and keep up-to-date with the series of VF5FS tournaments sponsored by Iplaywinner, South Town Arcade, and Sega. There will be a total of 5 tournaments before the release of the console version of the game.

    Southtown Arcade VF5FS Tournament Series - for the most up-to-date info on the tournaments.

    Tourney Info​
    Location:At Southtown Arcade.

    When does the tourney begin?: 7 PM PST (subject to change)

    When can you play the game?: One can play casuals starting around 3 PM PST (50 cents per play) on the day of the tourney. During tourney, cab will be set to Free Play.

    Entry Fee/Prizes: Entry Fee: $5 venue, $5 to the pot

    Prizes: 70/20/10% of the pot for 1st/2nd/3rd Place (pots are paid out at the conclusion of each session). Additional prizes (such as T-shirts) will be given by SEGA.

    Rules/Regulations (Subject to Change): Maximum Player Entries - 32, Standard Double Elimination.

    "For people coming out of town you can take the Bart Train straight from the SFO airport to San Francisco (Montgomery St. Stop) and be within 3 blocks of some cheap hotels and the arcade where the event will be at Southtown Arcade Map (click the "search by" and enter hotels") - 001

    Yay! Let me know if you need a ride from SFO or want to catch up siLE.

    I'm not sure about the details, but it seems that one signs up at STA shortly before the tourney begins at 7PM. You'll need to fill out a waiver and contribute to the pot ($10). If you get there at 3PM, you can play for 50 cents until you get booted after 10 wins.

    Cool! Yeah let's definitely meet up. I'll probably be there at 3 pm then to learn the new moves. Given I haven't touched VF in over a year, I doubt I'd be able to reach 10 wins LOL.

    Shall we do lunch somewhere nearby at that date?

    ice-9, yeah what siLEpai wrote. It most likely is not a problem, but there is a 32 player limit to the tourney. If you want to, you could also pre-register with South Town Arcade.

    Renamed everything that was previously listed as 3.# to 1.# . The VF5FS tournament series is separate from the third season of ranbats at STA. I apologize for any confusions this may have cause.

    Ice-9, its not that serious. Just show up at the day of the event early enough to be put in the bracket.

    There is no formal per-registration, but you can reach them using their Contact Link.

    You should be fine just showing up for the event.

    I think letting the organizers know directly and having people pre-register (and actually showing up to the event!) can help them promote their tourney and VF awareness. Hopefully it also increase the turnout. A lot of the people attending the event does not seem to be regular visitors of VFDC (or don't have an account).

    EDIT: I copy and pasted with some revisions, the tourney info from a previous South Town thread) on the first post.

    Looks like the next STA event will likely be rescheduled, as most of the SoA staff will be in Chicago... plus about 75% of the regular crew's going to be attending Fanimecon. (by the way, my panel's on Sunday, it's about figure collecting!)
