    What do you get when you cross Final Fantasy with Dragon Quest? Whatever it is it's bound to make waves in Japan.

    And it's good to see Sega's profits going up. Hopefully they'll take more risks.

    The merger between the two major developers may run into some problems.

    In November 2002, Square and Enix announced that they would merge later this year via a stock exchange that placed a higher value on Enix shares than on Square shares. However, Masafumi Miyamoto, Square's majority stockholder, has expressed his dissatisfaction with the stock-exchange ratio that was initially agreed upon. Both companies will head into further deliberations to discuss the matter.
    We'll post more details as they become available.
