SSF4 Good Games Thread

I should be more specific. There is a shortcut now /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gifgiving a SRK which messes with bison since a common mistake when going for his Ultra is /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/db_.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/db.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif which in the past wasn't a problem. Now you have to hit /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif exactly or else you end up teleporting right in-front of the opponent. So now you can't really afford to be imprecise with the final input as even if you hit /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b_.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif you still get a teleport because the game sees a srk motion.

@Social Ruin.... I'm nasty facing left but not very good facing right. I cannot do the super/ultra motion, facing right, reliably at all. I usually end up jumping if I try to pull it off fast.

You can buffer the motion pretty slowly, so I have to do that facing right (1 player side). But then I'm nerfed from that side because I need to do another move before the Ultra that I'm able to buffer into it. For example, I have to use Gouken's back throw to toss them up in the air first and try to follow with Ultra.

Gouken is pretty fun BTW, and beastly as well... In the corner, 2 EX bars needed:

Jump in HP-> HP 2-in-1 EX Dash Palm-> Angled Fireball-> Juggle into EX Hurricane Kick for 508 damage!!! No Ultra or Super at all; just two EX moves for huge damage.

Push them into the corner and keep them there... You will win.

EDIT: Tricky, I think all of the Super/Ultra motions are pretty unforgiving. You have to hit the directionals pretty accurately or you won't get the move you want... I do tons of EX SRKs trying to Ultra.

this is the 1st game where it's been this bad though. The oversimplification of the SRK motion in this version makes it come out a lot more and in situations that it wouldn't have come out before.

It's just a new problem to deal with.

 

God I hate sagats jumping mp or lp whatever it is, I have a hard time countering it with bison. I end up resorting to have to teleport out.

 

GGs to everyone who quit after they lost once last night.

 

Who's Sagat is that? I played a similar style Sagat and punished him big for his jumping and Tiger spams using Guile.

Nice Fucking Dictator. Pressure game is serious and i need to rethink me strats next time. Nice Akuma Vs Guile matches. you can see we had our thinking caps on. I wish i could've recorded the Back to Back F.A. Guarded we had going.

 

GG's to tsua hard battles for me as normal. That Balrog was messing me up something fierce for a while. The only way I was able to get cammy rolling against any of your guys was I noticed you got a little too comfy spamming attacks after your c.WK's so I'd just Spike when you did a few c.wk's. You got wise to it eventually and then I had to use bison lol.

 

Hey gerns, i use gouken too : ) Thanks for the feedback guys, it made me feel a little better. Also, i decided i needed to be patient...i've only had the game 3 days lol, maybe i shouldn't have all the combos down yet.

 

What's the SF4 equivalent to VFDC?

I dunno if it's just me but I get a kick out of playing fellow VFDCers the most even if it's not VF.

They've already got some really good, detailed information in these threads about characters, strats, match-ups, etc. Definitely worth some surfing.

Glory, your Akuma was relentless but I loved every second of it...Great practice since I need to improve my reaction time with Viper.

You know you can Focus attack Guile's Cr. HK right? Just block the first sweep and then quickly press MP+MK to focus attack the second sweep!

LOL GGS tricky! That Balrog wasn't me actually...it was my cousin. I played Fei Long most of the time. Yeah, his Balrog is a BITCH to fight!
