Starting out with kage...

hey guys,

I've really come to love Kage and Im going for him now as my main char. ( finally lol, played around for ~1 month unable to decide who I was going to play with...) I have some general idea of when I need to do what. I normally look up the top 10 moves thread but I can't find one for kage....

With Kage I find it hard to setup pressure / general offense game, mostly I poke abit with 3k(p) sometimes try 3pp but I don't really have some solid setups into damaging combos etc, also i don't really know whats safe to use from long range etc.

Actually what I'm looking for is some basic strategies, what moves do you use, when do you enter stance etc.

any general help on kage is very much appreciated!

I am also learning to use kage, I am in the UK and my GT is ses1mf1. Send me a message when you are online next time, and we can do some practice.
What I like to do with kage is /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif or /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif then /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif into shippujin, then back hop/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif to bait the opponent, then depending on their reaction do a quick /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gifor /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gifor a /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif, if you catch them with the /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif you can follow up with quite a few combos. Also, you can follow up from shippujin with /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gifand go for a /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gifthen /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif, but the timing is quite strict. I am by no means an expert, so please feel free to correct me.

 

/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif from shippuujin is used way more than /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif. The stagger /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif produces can be staggered out of while /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif produces a crumple for a guaranteed combo.

But on newbies who don't struggle you can do some fun stuff after that /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif stagger.
