Striking attacks instead of down attacks

How do you do a striking attack when you float or knock down an opponent instead of a down attack. Ex. with shun if i want 2dp after a round ive been doing /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif instead of just /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif because a down attack would be performed. Also when I try to combo with a regular /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif combo after a float I would get a down attack as well. I've seen videos of people using it but I do not know the command. Any help is appreciated.

 

In my experience, simply holding the direction you need as fast as possible will work. For example, after a chouwan (down to forward P), immediately hold down-forward, then hit P P K. Basically, just avoid tapping. Never been able to get tapping to work. If anyone knows of a good way to buffer this, please feel free to contribute. I don't consider myself a shunspert by any stretch of the imagination.
