Anyone able to post sure fire combos for different characters to give a good % chance of victory?

Hit your opponent more than they hit you and with more powerful moves (oh and play Leifei). Naw, seriously though, computer in ver c and up until very highest ranks in evo fall for the tiger stance [P]. They are always getting hit by it. of course follow up with [4],[4][P],[P]. simple easy damage, just don't get there through [3][P]+[K], it's the longest recovering way to tiger stance.

There are no sure fire ways to win. But a lot of the computers mostly fall for Kage's [2][K]+[G] counter. Just wait until they make a move and then counter with that. I get a lot of excellences against high kings that way. Then for the next few rounds, just throw a lot. Or if it's an open ring, go for the [4][P]+[G] ring out combos or just throw them out of the ring.

For Lion- Start the match with [8_][K][K], when they are on the ground [8_][P] or[3][P], block their rising attack throw them with something like [4][6][P]+[G] or [6][3][2][1][4][P]+[G] then finish them of with punches and kicks. Also throw in [1_][K] and then [2_][K][K] for a bounce combo.

Please stop giving advice. None of this would work in a real-life situation, and just because you can do something on PS2 doesn't mean that it will work against a human opponent.

Well Ragnafrak if you didint pay attention this is for Kumite stuff, not fights against people. Next time think before you respond with stupid answers.

Thats what I thought Ragna. Remember to think from now on.

If you are learning the game solely for beating kumite, then none of us should really care to give you advice.

Now, now, let's all be nice to each other and play fair, okay?

DracroniC, you're from Ontario? If you are serious about playing then you might want to get in touch with some Toronto players if you live close enough. Look for and contact "Llanfair" or "BMF" if you're interested, the VF scene always needs more players!

    Uhm...what Dandy_J said.

But if you just wanna get to high king in kumite...

Jacky's [K][K]>stomp & shufflestep [2][K][K]>stomp should get you there with him (Sometimes the CPU won't let you stomp, but this is fairly reliable).

Akira's [6][6][K][K] followed by full charge [4][6][P]+[K]>[6][6][K][K] or [4][6][P] combo, recharge will get you there.

Generally in Kumite of vf4 for ps2 charge moves are gold against the CPU...just get some distance & load up & you'll be crowned supreme god victor in no time.

Or you could just gameshark your way into all the items & GM rank.

Also...it just so happens that Akira's [4][3][P]>[2_][4][6][P] is a decent way to zone out and easily beat a good deal of the CPU opponents in evo quest mode even at the last arcade. Even though a blocked dbpm generally yields autopunish you are usually ahead of the game with the number of palms you land & the occasional MC [4][3][P]>[2_][4][6][P] combo you get. But this takes most of the fun out of quest mode ("fuck i fucking lost a-fucking-gain!")

I have a different opinion on this from you. Different

people have different ways of enjoying certain things.

It could be anything that they are interested. It works

the same in terms of playing virtuafighter. Who did say

that we have to be only concerned about playing

human opponents for the game. If someone plays

Kumite mode and having fun, it could be all the person

needs to get from the game. VFDC.com is not closed

for Kumite only players or anybody on that matter. You

better not disrespect anyone for their different taste or

style in playing the game like others don't disrespect

you since you don't do certain things that they do.

I don't mind fighting people, but after a while it gets lame. The computer has different levels so almost every fight is different. I know there are good people who don't make it boring to play against em, but meh. I'm happy with Kumite and fighting friends.

The whole point of this post was to find out some good combos against computers for some of my friends since they are just started out and don't know too much. I would of helped them, but i mainly only use Lau Chan and Kage-Maru. Alot of the "beginner" ranked characters I seem to suck with. "Expert" and "advanced" im fine with. So it's no help me trying to teach someone who uses Jacky how to be good with him.

    And thanks madagascar.

Well, I have a couple contributions to the art of quick and dirty Kumite advancement, to wit:

Vanessa: just like in VF4, [4][4][P]+[K]+[G], fully charged, will always make the AI block, and therefore be staggered. If you're in aggressive stance, then a quick [6][P]+[K],[6][P]+[K] will knock them on their asses and set you up to repeat as necessary.

Once you get to Stormlord, you may find that you need to innovate sometimes, but not much.

Sarah: 1st, you're gonna have to knock 'em down somehow. Once you've done this, though, the rest is easy: [4][P]+[K], [7][K]. Repeat. The AI never gets tired of falling for this. You just have to find the "magic distance" from them when they're getting up... 90% of the time a quick [6][6] puts you in the zone.

    I poop on all Kumite-haters.

My main reasons for wanting to advance in Kumite are a) to dress my s*%t up, and b) to always have AI opponents of appropriate caliber ready to practice against (I mean, when there aren't any humans around). Never mind that they fall for stupid stuff sometimes; Training Mode just doesn't supply the time limit and health bar that you need to see how your new ideas might work in a real life situation. If you want to practice alone, Kumite AI are the best there is.

BTW, everytime I see someone respond negatively to any post, I immediately assume that they are still in the terrifying grip of puberty, or if older, a sad, bitter virgin at least. WTF? The more sobering and saddening prospect is that they are neither, and haven't even these very understandable and human excuses for their vitriolic masturbations. I mean, you can grow up and you can get laid, but if you've done both of these things and still have the inclination and time to piss on other people online, then there isn't much even science can do to cure you, except for a revival of the practice of lobotomy.

You have my pity, you miserable little f&#ks, but that won't stop me from beating the crap out of you if you ever pull these whiny b!+h stunts in my presence. Whether with a joystick or my own two fists, I'll f^#king bury you on principle. Be warned. Shut up if you can't put up.

    Back to the subject:

I'm reviving my Wolf in Evo, and I hit up the Quest Mode in search of the kind of AI competition that I need to re-learn my skillz and timing... but halfway through the 2nd arcade, I'm already so bored that I have to practice winning matches without looking at the screen, just by sound. Even that's getting boring quick. I would love for someone to post a "robotic" Wolf technique that would get my character up to the arcades where I can get some real challenges with a minimum of effort and time.

And can I please take a moment to b%(ch about the fact that I'm, like halfway through the game and still haven't unlocked a frikkin' Sarah wallpaper!!! They'd better be da#@ned good, 'cuz by the time I get one, my expectations are gonna be pretty high.

I really suck at kumite with lion. I only made it up to like 1st dan! Yet against people at the Arcades I Won like 300+ matches. What is wrong with me? I watch TONS of chibita matches, and I have incorporated his style into my game, but I just keep getting Owned! The computer blocks every attack I throw at him, then it does a 3 hit move (like Vanessas [P][K][K]) Then it removes half of my life bar! I try to evade, but being on the defensive half of the fight doesnt help. Please somebody help me.

Trying turtling and then throwing the CPU after their throw counterable moves. Space yourself properly to let CPU whiff moves and then blam 'em. They're also pretty susceptible to defensive ring outs.
