As I changed over from VF3, I'm not quite content with the stepping of my character in VF5 at the moment.

Is there still anything like Taiwanese Stepping/Korean Stepping that was introduced in VF2 and later adapted and brought into the 3rd dimension in VF3? And if this is the case, how is it done nowadays?

In case you don't really know what I mean, view this performance by Akira Kid (yay :D):

Gerald talks about this stuff all the time since it was back in his VF2/VF3 days.

You can cancel and evade into any dash: forward, back, crouch, back crouch.

You can also cancel dashes into eachother and into evades, though I don't think it's as fast or effective as it was in the old games.

You can do both taiwan and korean step in vf5 but its just not as effective since the crouch dashes dont cover as much ground anymore when cancelled. Also, its alot easier to do than vf 2 and 3 since you dont need to hit g anymore.

Just cancel them a bit later. I think its possible to all types of old-school stepping in VF5 and then some more. Personally I love how much easier it is now ^^

Although it is beneficial not to use G in stepping because of the weird property, I dont know if it bug or not. If you evade and press guard, opponent tracks you. If you evade and do not press guard, opponent doesnt track you. This has nothing to do with what opponent does, its about the stepper pressing guard. This is really weird thing. Learning to do taiwanese stepping etc without using guard is like a necessity if you want to evade stuff with the stepiing.
