TBZone media thread.

This thread is for TBZone movies only.

TBZone is probably the most recognized VF site in korea. It hosts a ton of media, and with the exception of the very first VF4 clips it keeps all of its older clips available for download. It also mirrors some japanese movies. This is the primary source for videos of famous korean players such as ShinZ, POS.Akira, and various members of team Replays and Crazy Boys. TBZone movies are uniformly encoded with divx, which means to play them you must download the divx bundle at http://www.divx.com/divx/ ...some movies use older divx codecs, but most use whatever is the newest.


2 ways to download TBZone movies:

1. Visit the front page of the site at http://tbzone.gameshot.net/vf4/index.html
and let the english menus guide you to the movies you want. This takes several clicks, but you can see details about each movie (in korean) and can more easily determine how recent it is.

2. Visit the TBZone FTP server,
ftp://210.106.27.131:2100
note the nonstandard port number, 2100. Anonymous login is OK. This is a more convenient way to download clips and browse their directories, especially if you're using an FTP program. The only information you'll have about the files will be their size, date created, path, and filename (which is generally enough to figure out what you're getting).


Using method 2, I found a clip that apparently hasn't been classified yet (and it may be moved later, so the url doesn't work, you should visit TBZone and browse for it.

A pantload of CYC Aoi clips from the recent tournament

Some captures from the recent international tournament in korea were put up in the tbzone download section - all featuring CYC aoi. I don't know if any others (like the ones featuring ohsu, mukky, etc) are on the way. These clips feature shinz and other top players in korea.
They will probably be encoded with divx.

I'm not sure how good CYC is - one card is like 84%... the other 33%. So he's probably better than average. From watching him he likes flashy stuff, but he's facing really strong competition... the best in korea. When he loses though it's rarely a 3-0 rape.

Don't pay attention to CreeD. There are no Shun clips there. The Lion vids and POSAkira are the only ones worth a crap.

While it is fun, he annoys me because he takes so many risks. He usually wins, but I find myself yelling at him for missed opportunities or making himself too much of a target. /versus/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Well, I was inspired to fire up the lei clip to see if I maybe missed anything. From what I'm seeing, he only had a risky move blocked/dodged three times... one uf+K+G which was just plain guarded (shinz successfully dodged aoi's counterattack)... another an uf+K+G autoinashi'd from YY stance (again escaped punishment) and the third a f,f+K which aoi successfully threw. He tosses out a ton of uf+K+G's... but at -8 it's hard to throw it reliably in battle and shinz can EDTE like a madman.

As for blown opportunities, I'm not seeing it. He punishes mistakes - sabaki'ing the predictable PPf+P flowcharts with b,f+P+K... uf+K+G'ing the blocked sweeps for damaging combos... punishing CYC when he fails to tech roll with uf+K+G, stomp.

Maybe it was his lion you're thinking of? But his lion kinda demolishes CYC so I guess tossing out counterable attacks is ok if every one hits. You can see the f,f+K,K to punish no-techrolling again. This is good stuff.

These 2 clips are upside down when I view them. /versus/images/graemlins/confused.gif And I've seen this before a few times from TBZone. Anyone else have this prob. sometimes?

This is a common problem, and a few fixes are suggested here:

There are problems with playback and problems with burning to VCD's.
They seem to do with having either certain codecs installed or certain settings being checked on your codecs.

You probably have divx 5.02 and need divx 5.03 ... download the latest one from

http://www.divx.com/divx/

You'll want to select the far left (free) option unless you plan on doing elite video editing.
