hey all, ..

here are some casual spars between arch and i, as you can guess, when were not playing at gatherings, we're more or less just having fun at home^^ we've captured a nice amount of footage which will be hosted during the next few weeks, so stay tuned and enjoy.. /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Nice matches guys , like I told you already its great to finally see what you play like.I know you say you were only messing in these clips but hopefully you'll be able to put up some more soon.UK media is hard to come by so its much appreciated.If I had the money I'd make it down to game focus and that to play some decent level competition but for the mean time I'll just have to do with playing my casual mates /versus/images/graemlins/frown.gif

ummmmmmm i think i might try put 1 more vid up today and then we have to spread it out over the week cause we didnt get all the matches we wanted. Next time hopefully when we do capture somemore we can get direct feed so the quality will be better. I'm gonna have to make use of virtul dub as well cause Movie maker isnt the best piece of editing software around. Also most of the vids are unfortuanatly Wolf vs Pai, until rangingsilver (or my akira gets up to scratch) decides to come round then thats the way it's probably gonna be unless bk uses another character like he has in only one of the vids we aint put up yet.

Yeah some good clips there guys /versus/images/graemlins/cool.gif always funny when your watching people you've played against you can see there individual style.
Here's a suggestion if we get a memory card filled up with some good matches from the game focus events maybe you could arrange for them to put online as well?.....

 

Yes once again nice match.I 've probably mentioned this on many different threads before but I'd really like to get some clips and media put on here myself.The UK vf scene is almost exclusively in the south ( ie London ) which is too costly and time consuming for me ( travel etc..).I'd really like to start a media thread of northern Vfers so if there are any players reading this and are in the north of the UK PM me or whatever and lets see what we can get done about it.

Oh and yes the idea above about the matches from game focus sounds really good.Any more UK matches would be great to see /versus/images/graemlins/cool.gif.

 

Yeah that would be cool, just wondering how that would work cause the matches from gamefocus are on a jap console, maybe steve could help.

 

what we could do is get one of us to bring down a pal copy for next week, just let me know if you need us to bring one down /versus/images/graemlins/wink.gif, but if they dont have a pal ps2 I guess we could sort something out with Steve in regard to the recording..

I live in Colchester and I used to travel to London once or twice each month (to Tottenham Court Road) hoping each time that i might enjoy some decent Evo action.
It is true that it is hard for people like us who don't live in London to take the trouble travelling down to each time for just a few hours of game play.
I think that's a great idea about northern VFers (not quite for me /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif) meeting up and try to sort something out. PM me if you think I sounded genuine /versus/images/graemlins/cool.gif

just curious, but do you guys play all your matches w/ 30 second time limits? is that a british or european norm, or is it simply a matter of personal preference?

I can't talk about the others but I always use 45 second rounds and 3 round settings.Once or twice I've played with 5 round settings for a laugh but I found it slightly too long for a fight and not as fun as 3 rounds.

 

Best 3 of 5 and 45 seconds I would say is just about the norm everywhere. Most tourneys use it.

 

hehe yah it'll be cool. They should get a PAL PS2 and a PAL version of the game so we can record matches with the memory card, then post it online. Having watching and hosting them vids, they're very cool matches to see, the 3rd match was wicked. I won't say why, lol.

If we get any more or this becomes popular I might consider getting a bigger webspace, crank up to 100Mb yanno so I can host like 7 vids at a time, maybem ore if we find a way to convert the vids into MPEG format so I can compress them into divX format for even smaller sizes. Time will tell.
