Tech Talk Interviews

I've just started a new series called Tech Talk on my Virtua Fighter blog. It is basically an interview format with fellow VFers providing unique in-sights into their take on Virtua Fighter.

The emphasis is clearly on the more techie stuff in Virtua Fighter. As I'll be fishing for players of a wide array of characters, there's probably something in it for everyone in those interviews. Not all questions are so tightly bound to a specific character. I hope to get the balance right.

What do you think of this format?

Good interview, gave me an insight into the way Krye thinks and especially how he goes about his offence with Blaze.

Also, what can you tell about someone's playstyle by their clothes? What do my clothes tell you, Krye?

Anyway, nice work Leonard, looking forward to whoever you interview next (I suggest Jeneric).

 

Hahaha, I guess I misread the question, I thought Leonard was asking if I could tell anything from the clothes of the actual person I was playing! I was sarcastic with my answer, so yeah..

In your case though, Seidon, your character's clothes definitely tell me there's too much lag when we play!

Krye, thanks for the little view in your head. Your VF background is exactly like mine, I play VF for around 2 years now and I was a pretty decent DoA player before, but your knowledge in VF is years ahead from mine... This makes me sad

I started playing VF when it came out on 360 so I've had an extra couple of months on him. So I feel worse. No idea how those that have been playing forever feel.

 

LOL. Too bad you misread that question. Anyway, I think it was a great interview.

 

Tech Talk: Former Tekken player Mack on a Long and Stony Journey

In our second Tech Talk interview, we thought we might as well get the perspective of someone whose memories from starting to play Virtua Fighter is as fresh as green grass in spring.

Formerly a Tekken player, Mackfactor made the conscious choice to start playing Virtua Fighter—and never looked back since. We have properly never met such an eager learner. How hard the struggle was to get things started and what happened along on his long (and stony) journey can be read in our four-page interview below.

In this interview, the Canadian gets even with some DMers on Xbox Live as well…

Mack is a great example of how to learn the game properly.

I lol'd when Mack said "I was thinking, Who is this babbling idiot who wants to befriend me."

I liked this quote a lot "you need to be humble to replicate, and you need pride to innovate. You’ll need a combination of both. It’s the people with the pride that don’t wanna learn from anyone. It is those people who seem to just stop getting better.Sometimes, you are your own worst enemy."
I think most competitive gamers can learn a lot from that quote alone.
