What makes the Ogres so much stronger than the other characters? Maybe I should post this at tekkenzaibatsu.com, but since the topic is alive and kicking here, what the heck....

Re: tekken at a high level

We all know that Kuni and Lee can't be breaking off victories at high level competition. What I did mean other top characters can break off victories. You did not list Nina, King, Lei, Ling and Yoshi so I wanted to mention them without giving specific names.

This is _Tetsuo_, I am very lazy to go find my password.

Continuing from the Jin topic, Jin is a versatile character, he has some defensive pokes and effective amount of moves that can provide a mix up game. During a crouch dash there are many options that Jin has. There is the ewgf, hell sweep, ws+4, ws+2, f,f+2 and off course a f,f+1+2. Even after a crouch dash, people who like to move around a lot will either side step after the animation or simply do another crouch dash, hence the wave dash. There is more to this over powered character, but he does have his faults.

Why are Ogres are so dangerous is that this character has good priority moves. I am not of an ogre player so we will let Shinjin answer that for you.

hmmm, you dont know what makes ogres so strong? i'm guessing you dont play tekken at a high level other wise you would know,

well, for one the have a very good FC (full crouch) game, they have a low hit that will take 50% if it hits and a mid hits that also 50% when guessed wrong, the mid hit is also very safe, only a handful of chars can punish it,
they also has a unblockable attack that hits mid, knocks down so you can't techroll and is very fast, he also has the biggest energy bar in the game and the longest reach, ogres ground game is the sickest thing every, he take tack your whole bar in a matter of seconds once your on the floor.
ogre also has ws+3,3,d+3,3 which does about 45% damage and comes out in 10 frames, the same speed as his standing jab o_O

No, I'm a lot closer to "scrub" level. I'm trying to become a little more familiar with Tekken, so I've been playing it a lot more lately (TTT arcade and PS2), and watching clips from tekkencentral.com. I've been going to the tekkenzaibatsu.com forums for advice and tips. I have to weave my way thru a lot of "tekken is the most innovative, most deep, best story, blah, blah, blah" posts, but I eventually find something.
Thanks for your response. I asked because I was hearing about the Mishimas and Ogres being too powerful. I play with the Mishimas, but I was wondering what made the Ogres so strong.

Re: tekken at a high level

Shinjin, I play used to play Tekken at a very high level. I have not much time to go play at the arcades nor have people go to my house. There are not much Ogre players where I am at, mainly Lei, Jin, Hei, Anna, Nina, Yoshi, Jacks and a few other characters, but not much Ogre players. The top ogre player is in another city thats about a good 2 hour drive and he is hard to get into contact anyways. I did not want to say something that is either wrong or stupid sounding.

Well, this is my knowledge of Ogre is

-ws+3,3 d+3,3 the last three or two kicks is gaurenteed and it does come out quick and is punishing. I wasn't aware of the frame rate though.
-after the f,f+2 a person can do a d+1 a D, df+2 (something like that) which does take a good chunk of damage.
-that a ss+4 is really annoying.

I have to get back to work, I will finish this once I go home.

....Great... Is it just me or does he put everyone off? He started out ok. But when I was playing Ryan and was trying to concentrate. I really wished he would just shut up and let me play in peace....

Tekken is incredibly unbalanced. Guarenteed strings to very unbalanced characters and much more.

Here are so examples of things that suck.
Tekken 3 junk I barely remember

Law- When a character is grounded and tries to get up and attepts a get up attack. Law can jump behind the character with each characters' back facing eachother. Hitting 2 will make the opponent turn around making both characters facing each other. Immediatley after the punch connects, the person playing Law can press 3,4 (I think it is, its been a long while since I playe t3) and pop the opponent, allowing he or she to do a juggle and taking off a significant amount of damage from what I remember.

King- When an opponent is grounded with feet facing King. Opponents can do d+3 or d+4, which attacks the foot region. King's counter/reversal is only for medium and high priority kick attacks. With the d+3 or d+4 attacks a low priority, but for some reason King is the only character that can counter that low attack even though his counter/reversal is made for h/m attacks.

Tekken Tag junk that I remember

Anna- When doing a u/f+1, 3 a player can immediatley follow up with a f,f+1+2 which is guarenteed.

dang its getting a bit late and I am getting hungry, I might continue off this later.

    Karma,

Yes, that would likely be Chia Jin Ngee. Back in VF1/2. Hey, I still don't know who you are. What's your real name? I'm sure I've met up with you back in Singapore a long time ago.

Has anyone seen Derrick play? Is he any good? I read his profile and he considers himself a VF fighter trainer.
