WTF Happened to the Tekken series? And why does this game graphics look so lame? This game has bin in development for some time now but I think they should go back to the drawing board and start over. The weapon item shit is just stupid and cheesy, and some of the new characters esp. that robot chick, she is just way to dumb! Not looking forward to this game at all. With its lame killer instinct chain forever combos and ridiculous characters (a fuking Bear?) c’mon, Tekken has fallen off my play list. R needs to come out and just smash that muh-fuka!

Tekken 6 has been out in arcades for over a year. The weapon system is irrelevant in actual gameplay.

Very little of your post has any substantial criticism, it's just the usual stuff we see from KristinaNardone every time she posts.

Tekken = animals/robot/woodman with fireworks effect = gimmick!

I have enjoyed many of the Tekken games over the life of the series. Anyone here who claims they didn't own and love Tekken 2 on PS1 is fukkin liar!

Tekken has had some serious ups and downs since then, but still, we gotta give the series some credit here... The game has been #1 in the Japanese arcades for so long now, I'm hoping there's something to it. It's kind of hard for me to believe they would've play so much, for so long, and the game sucks that bad. The logic doesn't add up.

I have NEVER played this game. Sticking with that line of thought from now on, I'm gonna give it chance. Jeneric must have played the game and liked it... Jeneric, why don't you tell us some of the cool features of the game to give a substantial argument against all of the knock-it-before-you-try-it haters?

I'm sure I'll end up buying this game and that some of the people talking shit here now will be secretly, closet tekken-playing, while loathing themselves for it. Jeneric, why do you find the game compelling??? That CG intro was pretty cool, as usual... Tekken has always had cool CG videos...

I didn't love it, I never liked the look of 1 and 2 at the time and i've never owned any Tekken game, for serious!

I did play quite a bit of 3, 4 and Tag though.

Stop sounding like a Fanboy for real.

Cause Megamix is more fun than VF5.

I didn't love 2 either. It felt so slow and wooden compared with VF2.

    I own 4 and 5 but I never owned 2. I never even owned a PS1.

I don't like the Ganryu nerfs, but from what I've played of Tekken 6 is quite fun and is far more interesting to watch than several (all) VF vids posted by fellow forum posters.

I probably won't get into it because I'm too lazy to learn that many characters/properties, but that is my own fault not the game's.

Joo suck. FUCK FACES. WALLY-WALLY-CABBAGE ALLERGIES. It's me not you? What ARE WE DOING FOR LUNCH BABY? LET's go To GoLdEn GaTe PaRk. KK

Hahah, Kristina is Biggz316 your new account?

no idea to wait for R, it aint coming out for console , i´m pretty sure of that.
Personally I´m gettin T6 on release day and I`m probably getting heavily into it, I really dont see myself getting into VF 5 again if R doesnt come out

I'm not a big fan of Tekken, nor do I particularely dislike it, but why do people keep saying VF is less fun to watch? I've heard a lot of people say this in relation to several other games as well, and it doesn't make sense to me. In Tekken, most of the action is in the combos, which frankly, are a bit boring to watch after the first few times. In VF the action is evenly dispersed throughout the system, and even though there are juggles and gurenteed followups, thoughout most decent matches there is a constant struggle between the offense of one player and the defense of the other. You never know what to expect, even though it always makes sense when it happens. Personally I could watch high level VF matches all day and not get bored.

to watch VF and enjoy it you need to actually understand what's going on under the hood so a lot of the stuff you see if you're not a trained observer just looks kinda wack. while even a rookie can see how cool some of the matches in tekken are without understanding what's going on under the hood.

Everyone understands huge combo dmg, not everyone gets ETEG, nitaku situation, guaranteed dmg situations, oki setups. I think that's part of why am2 decided to put huge wall dmg in ver R; try and make it more fun to watch with no knowledge of wtf is going on.

None of the concepts in VF are hard to understand, it's just that it takes longer for some to learn them all and apply them. Tekken isn't all about huge damage combos, and three out of the four concepts in VF that you mentioned are shared between the two games. While it is true that VF probably has more concepts to learn than Tekken, it doesn't make the game any harder. I personally don't find VF to be anymore difficult to play. In fact, in some ways it's easier.

all you need just hopkick/general df+2 for those total characters, and when you in defensive situation, there's no fuzzy guard, ETEG. ha!

    and oough, I aint fanboy

Paperstone: haha, yea till I learned VF, but still Tekken is #1 community here.

I have to disagree that a lot of knowledge is necessary. I think anyone with a generalized knowledge of fighting games should be able to understand enough of what's going on for it to make sense (and if you don't have that, why would you be interested in watching fighting games in the first place?). Having not played a VF game since VF2, I watched a lot of VF5 videos before I actually got a chance to play the game, and I enjoyed watching them thoroughly. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif Especially the high level japanese tournament matches. Even though I didn't understand much about why people did what move when, the back and forth flow of the matches was still a lot easier to appreciate than the one sided game-play you often get with Tekken. I dunno though, maybe it's just me. In general I dislike fighting games when it's too easy to put someone in a situation where they can't retaliate for long periods of time.

You don't need a lot of knowledge, at least it doesn't feel like a lot. It did for me when I first really got into VF4, but now it's all pretty basic. VF has more to learn in terms of option select, but studying frame data and all of that shit is still just as time consuming for both games.
