Tenchi or evade?

    Hi guys, wanted to ask the community what other people do to balance Aoi's unique defensive abilities with the more standard abilities in the game. There's two examples that seem to cause me particular problems.

    First is in the title... parry stance and DMs are both pretty much designed to defend against linear attacks. Obviously you can't parry low, so they aren't completely interchangeable. I think I tend to overuse tenchi stance though. Especially since I find it hard to follow up a parry with good damage, at least compared to a DM > P+K hit. Which do you guys prefer, and when?

    The second is reversals and throw escapes. I find myself getting thrown unusually more than when I play any other characters, cause I predict possible attacks coming at me, do a reversal, and then watch my opponent just dash forward into a throw. And buffering throw evades after every reversal attempt seems annoying, at best. It's not like I'm unsuccessful doing this... I catch a lot of attacks that way, but it just feels like my throw escaping is really suffering.

    Doing both at the right point of time is best in my opinion. Overusing this or that isn't bad, as long as you don't get predictable, and thus counterable. Deflecting (using Tenchi) gives the opportunity to land direct, and guaranteed follow-ups, whereas evading can open a frame window. Evading and successfully punishing the opponent, if possible, is harder than using Tenchi where you exactly know how the situation will turn out.

    However, that doesn't mean that evading is useless for Aoi; not at all. There are some quite nasty mix-ups for evading, and immediately stopping your opponents attack. The Defensive Move (Evade + P+K) isn't this useful though, as its range is rather limited; once you miss you are pretty much open to everything. I'd rather go for these:

    Evade -> /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif
    Evade -> /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif
    Evade -> /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif > /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif

    As well, her /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif ( /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/uf.gif ) /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif is pretty useful, especially for Okizeme - can't get easier there evading your opponents rising attack.
