Never seen an [6][6]AS3 follow up from the two footed (head facing opponent) low rising attack, nice little combo, better than the usual pounce.

It is in star_030605_kumite08 00:52 into the match.

Just goes to show how little you know about Akira, eh? This has been around since the beginning of VF4, though most players now opt for a big down attack instead since it's easier/safer and the damage is roughly the same.

Yeah, considering that the moves are the same ones in VF4 ver.A,B,C it would work in all of them. In all of the matches I have seen, I always see players use the pounce, even Minami in his other clips uses the pounce.

TFT [2]+[P]+[K] , [4]+[P] , [4]+[P] , [P] , [2]++[P]+[K][K] has been around since VF4 ver.A, but the first time most people saw this was in a ver.B Evo Daioh vid. Don't tell me that you though I knew everything about Akira.....

players now opt for a big down attack instead since it's easier/safer

Hence the reason why not many people (including me) have seen it...

When VF4 first came out, I used the pounce after that rising attack, I used it up until the PS2 release of Evo now....

Got any vids of this, from VF4 (non Evo)?

The point I was trying to get across was, just because you learnt something new today, you didn't have to let everyone know about it. After your psychic-analysis of Minami Akira's "D-QTE-G'ing" I think you should keep your movie feedback/commentary frequency to a minimum.

Regarding that TFT combo, where it's main purpose is for RO, not damage, yes it's always been around but it wasn't until they neutered the range on Kage's [6][6][P]+[K]+[G] that made this combo a better choice for RO now in ver.B. That's why you are probably only seeing it now, but trust me when I say most Kage players (myself included) will know a few variations of RO combos.

But what's your point? I'm not denying that people learn from movies, I do too, but the game has been around for some time now and practically everything is known. There's not a lot left to learn in terms of combos, and so when you see something for the first time, the chances are good that most already know about it.

I like how you ask me for non-evo movies though, are you seeking some kind of proof or validation behind my claim? That's hilarious.

In any case, TBZone released a couple of GB's worth of movies in the early day of VF4 featuring a lot of ShinZ + co. playing, and that was probably the first batch of movies were I saw it being used the most.

These are all great vids of Minamis unique style but I just have a quick question:
How high a level is the opposition he is fighting?I can't recall a time when I've seen Minami have his throw broken and in one of the recent clips he uses the trick of
    [6][4][P]+[G]>(sometimes ducks )>[1][6][P]+[G]
several times in a match. He likes to use the ST as well and as far as I recall have never seen this broken either.Has anyone else noticed this?( btw I haven't seen masses of his fights but a good few at least ).

Yes it makes more sense to cancel out Akiras two strongest throw directions than gamble on him throwing out a ST I suppose.Nice clips though /versus/images/graemlins/cool.gif.
