Texas Players: This Is Your Calling...

I'm just wondering who's left out there in the lone star state that still post on this board...

I work in Austin and am there frequently, getting in some VF whenever possible. I much prefer the PS2 for various obvious reasons, so I would like to set up matches if someone would care to host. I rate myself "very comfortable" with VF's advanced mechanics and use Kage, Shun, and am beginning to learn Lei-Fei.

Post up if you're from (or still living in) Texas, esp from the Austin area and let's try to get in some good matches. We can even hold a Tekken/VF tourney (Tekken is HUGE here, along with SF and CvS).

Ack, I think I'm the only Austinite who does NOT like Thundercloud. Errf. I'll take Quiznos or Mr Goodcents. We do have decent TexMex though.

Those two names don't ring a bell. I moved from Austin to Tokyo in January of '98, btw. I dont' eat meat either, so I'm quite big on Thundercloud.

You won't get better Tex Mex anywhere than Texas.... definitely not in Japan... it's awful here. Brings me to tears even.

I think it's their super hard bread that makes it so difficult. I feel like I'm chewing through layers.

Well, the main place for VF4 is Einstein's still, where Street Fighter and SnK vs Capcom is also huge. Le Fun(k) is still smelly and full of wierdos and students. Powerplay at Dobie Mall is better now but not much else changed.

For awhile we had a big crew that played Tekken Tag at Showplace Lanes, but that dissolved. Comp of any kind is weak in Austin now, but when I move back I will be attempting a reunion of the old school crew.
