The best character

Ive trained and gone really far with lei and pai in the quest mode and have run out of ideas and the ai can beat me alot. akiras combos are way to difficult for me to use consistently (the buffering is too hard) and lau chan is the person i have been using for a while. is lau a good character to use for a,ong time because ive heard he doenst have many moves so he gets predictable.
anyway which character does eveyone think is the best person to train up? (im expecting alot of akiras /versus/images/graemlins/wink.gif)

 

it's balanced enough so that it doesn't matter. The subject of Tiers will always arise, but choosing one that fits your style is more important than choosing a top tier character. Watch some of the replays on the evo DVD if you want to see how characters play in an expert's hands.

 

Any character is good in the hands of the user. Choose who u like, stick with them, practise with them, learn weaknesses and strengths etc.

 

Oh man... try any character you can play and like the immediate results. Lei Fei is good, if a bit quirky, Pai and especially Lau are great to begin with. As for Akira, (even) I don´t really know how to play him, but I still kick ass with most characters. Just don´t fuss over it, life is a ceaseless process of relating... /versus/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Every character has something amazing about them that other characters dont have (with the exclusion of brad, who is below average, although some of his tricks/mindgames are good). In the end Akira and Kage probably come out above the rest, as well a Jacky. But I would never choose them because they are "Top Tier", I choose Sarah because her playing style suits me.

 

Try the sophomore, Vanessa!

She's got a nice movelist for every situation, and she is ULTIMATE for punishing rising attacks.

 

try brad for fast attacks and brutal combs
Goh for strategic throws, and nasty beatdowns when the other person messes up, try shun if you like dancing around your opponent and frustrating them, try kage if you wanna use something diffferent. all these guys are badass and my favs.

 

I would have to say that Dral is the best character. She is super fast has long and powerful combos(I saw Dural use a combo that kept my AI in the air for the whole match) She is freaky! Her almost breaks all my rising attacks when I'm fighting her. She is so powerful!

That´s BS. /versus/images/graemlins/cool.gif Brad is great, he is tops when it comes to confusing movement. Top tier all the way /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif

 

For me i think Shun is the best.I think he's the only character that can really fuck with your head.

With all due respect to Neon, I dont beleive Brad to be such a strong character. Although he does have some interestingly strong play.
