the E3 thread

there's been a few requests for some E3 info, so I'm starting this thread.

For the last 2 years, I've held a big E3 VF gathering at my house, and usually had a pretty good turnout (20-30 people), and last year we also had a tournament. People come from all over the US, and some people usually come from other countries as well.

Since my house is kind of crazy right now (in the process of re-doing my hardwood floors with my girlfriend), I won't be able to host anything this year. Also, due to the fact that E3 gatherings usually start in the early evening, I won't be able to have it at the Tattoo Shop (which has been an option at different times).

I'm hoping someone else will offer to host some kind of event. I'd be happy to help out in any way possible.

So, who's gonna be here? E3 is during Wed-Fri this year, the week of May 13th.

Theres a good chance i could hold it at my house either Thursday or Friday. Ive got plenty of open space 3 TV's, and room for people to bring in more. The only thing im missing is extra chairs. I need to get it cleared with my parents first.
My house is in the Walnut which is about 40 minutes away from LA, I dont know if thats inconvienient with meet.

My Friends house is in Pomona, He lacks chairs and TV's, but hes got one projector screen. Im pretty sure he's ok to do it. Pomona is also about 40 minutes from LA.

For relative distance my house is 8 minutes from Arcade Infinity.

If anyone is willing to host at a closer location, (brisal you got your apartment ready yet?). Post ahead. If everyone thinks the distance is too far post your comments here. I think socal crew can work something out.

 

Pomona House is ok to do it.
We just need a list of people attending so we know how many chairs and tables we need. Refreshments too.

Catherine and I will be there. We can bring a tv, japanese ps2, evo disc, two hori evo sticks, memory card.

 

i will be at this E3, but i have no idea if i'll be able to make it to a VF gathering, i donno what my schedule will be like. i'll go if i can, tho. i'll keep watching this thread.

If I am at E3 which I most likely will, I can transport 4 people in my car from LA to the gathering site. Roughly a 40 minute drive with medium traffic.

For LA group, it would help up greatly if you guys can bring any extra consoles, TV's, tables chairs etc . . . If all goes well, im sure we can make this be a multi day event.

Oh yeah, first 2 rounds of sake free on the house!!

Hello everyone, This is (HAT) Brian, and since the meet is going to be held at my house, I feel that I should say something.

First of all, I'd like to say that everyone is welcome to come next friday. For anyone visiting LA during e3, I strongly recommend that you come by and play for a bit. Its a good chance to meet the LA group, and see how we play over here. We're all a friendly bunch, and i'm sure that you won't regret it if you came.

Anyways, I'd really appreciate it if anyone interested in coming post here first. You don't have to post here to come, but i'd like to have a general idea of home many people will be here.

As alex said, we'll expect people around 7, and it will probally go on for as long as people want to stay. I'll provide refreshments, and some snacks. There are also a lot of cheap 24 hour food places by my house as well.

Well, I hope that everyone can make it. I can guarantee that Team Tokyo Mafia! will be there, and that should be more than enough incentive for everyone. : ) I'm sure that this will turn out to be a fun event for everyone. I was planning on attending with Ali but unfortunately it's on Friday, and I'm going to see The Matrix Reloaded then... sorry guys. /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

 

I thought matrix reloaded opened thursday? Thats when shou is planning to go. Maybe you can hook up with him.

If anything a movies only 2 hours and this meet goes on till the late late late hours. Our group usually plays till 5am. Its not a tournament so being on time is not a factor. I can rearrange dates whenever, just everyone give me a heads up.

 

Fuck and we are leaving the day after.
On friday we will have to write a short report and pack oure stuff etcetera becouse me and two guys who accompany me are flying to NYC just after noon.

That's not so great. If it has to do with you not wanting to run one, I can certainly take on the responsibility or at least be of assistance.

Friday night is good for me. So is Saturday afternoon/evening.

 

We can run a tournament if we all want to. But i need more of a definitave list of people whos going, i know a couple people on irc that claim to be going, that hasnt posted here yet . . . =/

 

HEY RENO... I'm not gonna miss opening night to the Matrix, AND VF4evo gathering... come on now, that's just too rough (yeah, I'm suppose to go with Reno to Matrix on friday... was skipping thurs cause of his previous plans).

With gathering on friday... oh so sad! =/

Well, nothings set in stone right now. I can have the gathering on either thursday or friday no problem. Hopefully we can find a day that would be best for most people. So please tell me if it would be better for you on a thurstday or friday. Thanks
