Tamura entered the Aikikai Hombu Dojo around 1953 as an uchi-deshi (live-in student) of aikido founder Morihei Ueshiba ( O sensei . He was one of Ueshiba's favorite pupils and since 1964 has greatly contributed to the development of aikido in Europe and France in particular.

This is day mourning for the french aikidoka and the european too.:'(

In the beyond, i hope what u training with Morihei Ueshiba.

I hate to say it, but Akido is akin to RSBD....it perpetuates people believing in the force.

    May he rest in peace.

Aikido may not be "the ultimate ZOMG REAL badass martial art there is", but it certainly isn't a hoax either. They work on very real principles, and only get a lot of bad rap from certain videos circulating the net.

You can't measure the legitimacy of every martial art by how well one would fare in a no holds barred ring, else the best martial arts ever would be lion-fu and gun-jutsu, and all the rest would be wasting time. I've seen a university aikido club, they were training hard and with a lot of spirit. The world doesn't end at the cage. [IMG]

Aikido may not be my thing, but it's a good thing.
