I got to watch the movie yesterday, and I gotta say it's the best movie I've watched so far in this year. Awesome actings, nice plots, a thoughtful drama with lots of humor.

    Anyone else liked the movie?

I saw it and did like it. By the time I got to it the movie was so hyped up that it really couldn't match my expectations but I did enjoy it.

Some very funny moments and Church and Giamatti gave some great performances.

That movie did wonders for sales too (iirc) seeing as there really isn't much marketing put towards wine.

Heh. I don't drink wine, but I guess what I said was true.

    Edit: poor sentence structure.

I thought it was an excellent movie, I also think Paul Giamatti doesn't get nearly the respect that he deserves for his role in many award winning movies (Man on the moon, the Truman Show, and prolly soon to be "Cinderella Man" though I still hate the title).

Loved the movie. First saw it on my flight to Japan this year actually.

Giamatti is the mother-fuckin'-man. I can still remember him in Big Momma's House in that one scene where he was wearing Big Momma's arms and burst into a mad flurry of punches, superfly style. That one scene absolutely killed me... don't know why either /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif

My girl and I saw this movie acouple of months ago. We had no clue what this movie was about, so when we went in, it was filled with an "older" crowd. We were like Oh man what the hell are we about to watch. To our surprise it was really funny. Good movie, funny at the end when he had to plow his friends car into the tree, instead it just took off the wrong way. /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I saw it in the theater. Very funny. There's no way Virginia Madsen's character would've gotten with someone so pitiful though...

I am a fan of the director. "Citizen Ruth," "Election," and "About Schmidt" are all funny also.

It was hands down one of my favorite movies that came out last year. Ended up watching it three times in the same week.

As is always mentioned, the performances were wonderful. And I enjoyed the humor that was sprinkled throughout and in betweeen. Really hit close to home for me (for better or worse hehe).

The movie, for me, was a personal journey that I could relate to (masked by a buddy flick top layer). I really like the photography and editing as well. In personal conversation, I could go on and on about the film.

However, the film was overhyped in general, particularly certain aspects of the movie--and I can see that ruining a lot of expeirences when watching the film--but maybe it then warrants a second viewing?

Saw this movie the other night. I thought it was pretty good. When the tow truck driver was chasing Giamatti, that shit had me rolling. Also I wish I was Church in that scene he was banging Sandra Oh.
