So I noticed there are some football fans, so who here is gettin into it? Will the Chargers take Eli Manning, Larry Fitzgerald, Phillip Rivers after trading down? WHO KNOWS, they have bad history of taking high rated QB prospects (Ryan Leaf, NOT taking Michael Vick). What will my friendly hometown Cleveland Browns do? They want Robert Gallery, they need line help, it seems pretty self explanatory to trade up but they could stay there and hope Sean Taylor falls to them. What are your thoughts on it hmmm??? /versus/images/graemlins/confused.gif /versus/images/graemlins/confused.gif /versus/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Man, the Browns are going down. Bad choice getting Jeff Garcia. He's a good player, but your team doesn't need all that quarterback controversy.

In all honesty, I've been against Tim Couch from the start. He isn't a good leader and for all his years, u think he would have done better with it but he didn't. I was there on Draft day '99 saying draft Donovan McNabb cause he did far more for Syracuse than Couch did for Kentucky. They have made some mistakes that if I had had my way, wouldn't have happened (and I'm not saying that from a fan standpoint, I actually study capology and the system and rules). Jeff Garcia will do alot better than Couch did and by the time they get their first win, the other Browns will be sold as well.

ryan leaf was a huge mistake, but saying the chargers have a bad history of taking qb's is...ummm...premature. and the situation with vick, i and many charger fans are certainly happy with tomlinson. although it would have been nice to see vick in a chargers jersey. if the chargers piss away their chance at manning...you then can say we have a bad history.

as for this years draft, i pray to god that the chargers don't screw it up. but judging from what i'm hearing and reading on espn and in the papers, they are. it seems now that the redskins are interested in moving up, to pick up an offensive tackle. in exchange we get samuel and the 5th pick. while i do like the idea of our qb getting more protection, why in the world would they miss their chance to pick up a manning? i think they have their eyes on rothlisberger, but eli just comes from a proven family. whether they choose to trade the pick to the giants or the skins, they're screwed either way. give it to the giants, they'll obviously take manning. but then the cards would likely take rothlisberger. if they trade with the skins the same thing will happen. best idea....take manning.

It wouldn't surprise me if they picked Fitzgerald over Manning, they traded Boston away to the Dolphins and might be considering a receiver, but yes Manning wouldn't be a bad move. I wonder if he would've been projected so high, if he wasn't Peyton's brother !? But he's the real deal, I can't hate on Manning he did his thing against the gators, (even though the gators ain't what they use to be).

we already picked up dyson, so i think the wr position is covered. last season i was excited that boston was coming over, but the first couple of games i was thinking "what the hell is this guy doing?" he's built like a tank and should be running guys over, he ended up on the ground by corners that shouldn't be able to manhandle him. anyways, the chargers offense is built around tomlinson. and it's sort of looking, to me but i hope not, that gallery might go #1. if that's the case the chargers are hoping on rivers being available in round 2. but i don't see that, especially if pittsburgh is looking at him.

hopefully dyson can do the job boston was suppposed to do, take the edge off tomlinson. however we need a #2 wr. caldwell ain't gonna cut it and dwight, he's fast but his hands are shit. if and when we take manning, he should also be able to take pressure off tomlinson.

Hopefully Palmer does well for the bengals. Lord knows Kitna could stay in a wide open pocket for 7 seconds and then get hit without scrambling.

IMO, Eli is being a little bitch. Peyton went to the Colts when they were HORRIBLE and went 3-13 the first season IMMEDIATELY followed by a 13-3 season. He needs to stop complaining about dumb shit and do his fucking job, he just destroyed any sense of suprise that the chargers could have pulled last second by announcing his shit to the public and that is gay. /versus/images/graemlins/mad.gif

It has nothing to do with a sorry record in the beginning. It has to do with the coach. Marty Sch. sucks as a quarterback coach. He is a defense and run oriented coach. Archie doesn't want his son playing for years in an un-pass happy system.

i couldn't agree with you more. marty ball sucks ass. it's boring as hell, and when our defense can't hold back the opposition in the 4th, what's the point in still continuing with marty ball. but marty isn't all to blame, his coaching staff sucks. the offensive and defensive coord. couldn't do shit. and the front office completely dropped the ball. last season we lost seau and harrison and had no one to replace those guys. i was thinking keep either one, but don't release both of them. now we lost wiley, with no one to replace him. wiley wasn't the greastest last season, but he's a hell of lot better than the rest of the d-line. i swear these guys are just continuing this cycle of fucking up.

as for the mannings, the charger organization shouldn't have made that comment public. they just fucked up everything for everyone. first of all, if we don't take eli, that means that a player is dictating the draft. if we take a qb that doesn't wanna be here, that's gonna piss off the fans. especially if he's not productive. now it looks more like they're gonna trade down and it seems like the giants are gonna get #1. what they did was fucking stupid. they basically revealed their hand.

I hope the niners trade their pick for more draft picks. The niners for the past few years have been so injury prone. We need as many fresh bodies as possible.

They need more than fresh bodies now, they need EVERYTHING. The only thing they have is linebackers and d-line which couldn't stop the run 2 well anyhow. All and all, they need QB fast to replace the ALMIGHTY Tim Rattay and a new o line. Barlow should be able to hold his own, and I hope it goes well cause the 9ers will need all the help they can get.

whatever man. You don't follow the niners, you wouldn't really know what they need. They will do better than most expect.

Stomp as much as I would also like to see them do good, lets face it, they won't they're rebuilding, it'll be a great season for them if they can pull off 6, 7 wins.

onistompa: no big deal to me. I am a true fan so no matter how bad they are projected on doing, I still root for them. So I maintain staying positive.

As a Jet fan, I can really relate to what you're saying. I'm very pleased with the moves that the Jets made in the offseason.

Jets vs. 49ers in the Superbowl!!!! /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif

(Looks at espn.com for the 49ers' offseason moves)

anybody happy about their team's picks? i'm sort of mixed about the chargers. after all the drama with the mannings, i felt we should have taken robert gallery. since our offense is based around tomlinson, why not? i didn't actually think the chargers were gonna pick manning after all his comments. i was joking with my friend that the chargers should just draft him out of spite. anyways, in today's paper a question was asked if there was any other team that he didn't want to play for, he said, "no, just one". that fool should have just kept his mouth shut, because that pissed me and alot of other ppl off. oh well, go rivers!(and his funky delivery /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif)

Cleveland didn't do bad, they filled one need (s) and they got one good player for the future (winslow) so I won't complain TOO much, though it would have been better with Gallery or Taylor in the first but oh well /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Winslow is going to be a pain in the ass for Cleveland. His attitude needs to be checked. Here's hoping the team captain puts a big hit on him when he starts talking too much trash.

The niners did very well on the draft. Got the player they wanted in the first round but traded down twice and got two more draft picks. Picked up an offensive lineman and a corner to bolster both positions' depth and picked up another wide reciever in the 3rd round. I wasn't quite sold on them drafting another reciever since we have enough signed. But I am hoping this other reciever can play back up on special teams on both ends, and also be in the "hands" unit. Now we just need to use the other five picks on stocking defensive players. Although a running back wouldn't hurt. To keep Barlow's ego down.
