In the attempt to get VF more exposure, I will be doing a new web series to show my progress as I attempt become a good Virtua Fighter player. I have a capture card coming in mail and starting next week, I will be recording VF matches both online and offline to show how far I have come.

If anyone has any suggestions as to how I should go about this, feel free to post here.

Hmmmm well you can take the "online warrior" route and point out your opponents weaknesses, game winning moments, even your losses for learning experiance

Don't really have any advice, but just want to say that's awesome and I'll support by watching. Looking forward to it.

Try to have days where you train against a strong player, and only that player, almost like a featured player. Room matches always nice to watch if a good group of guys are in there. Ranked randoms are nice once in a while, but they can get dull sometimes.

I really like what Max did when he was not doing the live commentary but would commentate on fights after the fact. I actually wish he still did more of that, but I understand time restraints make it hard. It's be really sweet to see you do something like that too.

The shame, in this case at least, is that you are NOT beginner player in fact.

I can imagine series which will be great for beginners - like you pick (say) sarah and start "learning" her...
Starting with few core moves only (I can imagine something like P, 6PK, low swipe, throws and some "panic" move - somersault it is fr most beginners) and playing the very core game of VF; then regularly adding more moves in your repertoire (and explaining why) and juggles, showing how it evolve your game.
The some going for defensive techniques - starting with nothing, then add evades, movement, fuzzy, throw escapes...
And later start showing how spacing works and some specialized counter-strategies.

I can imagine such series will be greatly helpful for beginners already used to FGs from other series; mainly for users of that specific character, but if you will properly explain what and why are you doing (in general terms), it can help a lot people to understand how to become "pro" in VF.
    ------
To your original question... I can imagine that it can work prety decently if you just pick some captured games, find yourself a mentor (or more of them) and then commentate the match together with them - explaining who did what kind of mistake at certain places; or what was good or great. All with all that "why" and "how" added.

I actually think i could possibly do that. I will see what I can come up with!

For this series, I will be learning a new character, I will still play jacky, but i think it would be fitting to use a new character for this.
