Sir, it's bad enough to bash a game that you obviously haven't given much practice to on a general board. It's something else to sign up on a dedicated board and then lie.

WTF are you talking about? "most complex and deep fighting game" It's a non transforming "bloody roar"
VF4 is exactly like DOA(all)
I've played the VF4 practice mode and tried to learn thier moves, the game is too time consuming. Trying to master evey move and it's porpose is for somebody who has too much damn spare time.
The only 3d game that i ever really spent my time on and some what tried to master was soul calibur

Now, to begin with, you proved yourself wrong by stating that 1) VF is a button masher but yet 2) trying to master every move's purpose is time consuming. Also, your complaints with the game obviously extend farther than control layout. If you don't like VF, that's fine and I'm sure many people agree with you. However, arguments like "VF is bloody roar and DOA" are neither well-conceived nor persuasive. Leave criticism to those with the experience to know the difference.

 

referring to the buttons is a completely arbritrary point. Thats like saying "it only has X stages, how deep can the game be???"

if you're saying theres only so many options, consult a movelist.

 

Face it man you don't know jack about fighting games. Your comparisons are lame, and the points you think you are making make no sense. Using the button layout to discuss the complexity and deepness of a game and saying VF is exactly like DOA just sounds scrubby and retarded.

That may be the reason no one plays. Your posts on this board (not just this thread) have been nothing but spam and I have grown tired of you. Man you can say whatever you want and hate me for no reason but anyways No I have not been passing myself off as a VF ambassador I am no expert at the game that’s why you will never see me give anybody advice in the technique threads I go there to get advice not to give it, I just really understand VF and know how to play it good (I never have had the chance to play very many human opponents because I don’t know anyone near me that plays VF so I don’t know how good I really am. I just defend it when someone talks crap about it that’s all. I post here cause I enjoy being somewhere with people who also enjoys playing my favorite fighting game. No Drift plus I am not going to let you bait me into a stupid flame war. You can be a jerk to me or whoever you want but that does not mean I am going to bring myself down to your level and be a jerk back. Im not bashing the game, it looks damn good(xbox compatable) i've just grown bored of 3d fighting games, i dont even play SC since part 2 pissed the shizzle out of me. I guess it's just that im a 2d fighter fan, meaning i have a short attention spam, like 30min-1hour on a "fighting game" so i like my games to be quick but entertaining, kinda like women but thats a different story(lol) I'm going to get this game for dreamcast just to get me another taste of what this game was or is. What i meant by bloody roar and DOA was the button layout, it wasnt like tekken. there was no like kick or firce kick, just a kick in general which is good for beginners and for people just wanting a quick game(not quick enough for me) but I tend to get tierd doing the same combination with the same button, no dis respect, I just like old school. and i thought fatal was being a jerk, it couldnt have been all me."

The problem with that thread is that none of those people are good/experienced at fighting games PERIOD IT. They have no proper knowlegde to make a vailid judgement of any of the games that were mentioned. The only reason fighting games "just aren't the same nowadays" is because they apparentely were not aware of high level play until recentely. Fighting games have ALWAYS been like they are now. There have always been imbalances, infinites, turtling, and abuseable moves. It's just now they are aware of it. They talk about how fighting games used to be better...no, it's because "back in the day" they sucked at fighting games, but everybody else did too, so it didn't matter. Now, everybody their age who are still playing fightng games are playing at a higher level while they are still scrubs. Wanting to win without practice it seems.

For example, 3rd Strike was praised a couple times in that thread. Cominus said: "play SFIII, it's all about skill in that one, once you master the parry it's over". Well guess what? That's total bullshit. Most good players hardly EVER parry, only when it's absolutely necessary, because it puts you at risk for mixups that you can't option select out of. If Cominus had ever played a good Chun, Ken, or Yun, I bet he would hate that game just as much as CvS2. People also praise Garou MOTW. It's just as unbalaced/flawed as any other game. Kevin runs that shit, but harly anyone plays it at a high level, so they are unaware. If people did play it, they would hate on Garou along with every other new fighting game.

If anything, games are faster now. It's the players that have changed. The description "whoever makes the first mistake loses" fits old games more than it does new ones. Have you ever played ST? That description fits that game to a T. Furthermore, if you make a mistake, do you expect the other player not to punish you for it as hard as they can? Again, nothing new, just the fighting game community passing you by.

Comunis, If controls (and controls alone) were your motiviation then I retract my statement about your bloody roar and DOA remarks. I have not played either so I cannot presume to judge (except that everyone knows Bloody Roar sucks donkey balls /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif ). However, your new remark about "doing the same combination with the same button" only serves to prove that you have not played the game beyond learning canned strings. I encourage you to rent this game (presuming that you have given away your old copy) and enter the tactics and advice section for a character of your choosing. These simple scenarios will show you that VF is far more than canned strings and may even renew your interest in 3D fighters again. After all, how many games have a site with 5949 members to date?

This site has recently seen the proliferation of the underaged and feeble-minded. Now certain people are born stupid and it's not really their fault. However, unless they have a learning difficulty, even the most unintelligent person can learn once shown the proper way. You have been warned by Myke about your spamming and yet it continues. I was waiting for you to come into this thread and bash me for no reason like you always do. I guess you didn’t read the post I made earlier in this thread about how I come to this thread for advice not to give it. Oh and the reason I mostly post in junky and general is because I have no questions to ask anyone on how to do a certain move or how can I beat my friends Lau cause he keeps owning me because I don't have the luxury of being able to play other human opponents like allot of people do here (there are also no arcades by me that have VF4) and I know how to do pretty much all the moves in the game. If I ever get lucky enough to find someone who lives by me to play VF 4 EVO. With me than I might start posting more in the technique thread. I just want to know mysterious_red what do you have against me? I have been as nice as I can to you and everyone else in this forum and you still insist on being a total jerk to me for no reason, and I just don't understand why.
