This obscure stepping technique I must know of o.o

The characters in this video are somehow able to step as fast as lightning of sorts, and its pretty badass looking. However, this is a ver a vid and in many of the ver b or c vids I've seen, it hasn't been used, well, I dun think I saw any vids of ver b or c where its been used. ^^;;

If possible I'd like to know if its usable in ver b or c, as they're the only ones I have access to considering the lack of a UK arcade release for it, and~ o.o I'd like to know how the technique is executed, of course, as well as what the hell it is.

Looks like he's cancelling evade with standing dash and backdash, and cancelling those with evade

But wouldn't a failed evade kind of make that obselete as they seem to drag, or has that changed in vf5~? Or is he just cancelling a failed evade?

Well, maybe I'm missing the point, but anyway, its weird how its not been in any ver b or c vids I seen. Is it just the strategy not being very effective in high level play~? o.o - I've been looking at chibita vids fishing for this technique's presence in ver b or c vids - Or is it like, removed from ver b or c? Its an unlikely possibility, but curious as I want to get hardcore into ver b or c.
