Throw Breaking Questions

Alright, some friends of mine and I have discussed this and are curious if any of you know the actual answer.

The throws in question are certain types where it seems like you should only be able to enter one break, but we're not sure if that's the case or not. The three cases we were thinking of are ground throws (while the opponent is actually on the ground), low throws (or crouching throws or some other term, don't know the official name), and multi part throws (Aoi's hcb/hcf stuff, Wolf's catch, etc). In those cases, can you enter multiple escapes or is it simply a guessing game?

In the case of multi throws, ground throws, and special flow charting throws (like Wolf's /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif shenanigans)you must guess one direction/escape.

For crouching throws and normal standing throws you can input multiple escapes.

For catch throws, you cannot escape them period. However they will always lose to normal standing throws and they are also kind of slow and easy to see/react to.

Cool, thanks for the clarification. I have another quick one if you don't mind. I think that there are definite differences in throw range between characters, but my buddy swears there aren't. I'm pretty sure I'm right, but could you settle this for us?

I'm not quite sure, Myke and others probably know more.

I will say sometimes it feels like other characters have insane throw range like Jacky, Wolf, and Brad. Maybe Sarah's arms are to short? lol

I am sure that some of the throws in the game have longer range than other.
For example most of the catch throws, like Jeffry's Threat stance /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif, Lion's /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif, and such.
Also, many of Wolf's grabbing animations look like they have longer range.... and they do...
I am not sure about other characters though.

Looking at the wiki, it makes no mention of throw distance difference. I'm still pretty much standing with my first stance Logos in that the distane from the characters body is no different on throws. Buuuuut... I can't deny that last night it took Wolf less neutral throws to reach characters /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smirk.gif So I duno.

    Re: range of throws
I can't say for sure if characters have different throw ranges in VF5, but I know for a fact that they did in VF2, and I don't see why AM2 wouldn't continue with giving the characters different grabbing ranges in later versions of the game as it's another easy way to balance the characters.

    Re: catch throws
They cannot be escaped, but they all have relatively long start-up animation that you can either interrupt with a fast attack, or throw them out of before the catch throw connects. (You get a 0-frame throw vs. the character trying to catch throw you.)

So to be clear. On crouch throws, if they do a /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif throw . And I began by buffering /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+ /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif+ /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif , then ended with /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+ /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif+ /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif within the time frame allowed, I would still break the throw? Same for while on the ground throws? Or if I did the /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+ /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif+ /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif last would it matter?

EDIT: Oops, had wrong inputs for low throw breaks lol. Thanks Yupa -

KrsJin, crouch (or low) throws are with all 3 buttons /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif

AFAIK, you can escape multiple low throws.

vs. Jeffry, quickly enter in /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif
during the throw escape window to escape all of his low throws.

You only get 1 guess vs. ground throws AFAIK.
    Either /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif or /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif

Oops lol, forgot the K on it haha.

Ok that's probably what had me mixed up, it is only ground throws that have one guess. Thanks man - And I see Unsafe Dan had that posted too. Just had to double check lol.
