Throwing ranges

I was wondering today how the characters rank in throwing ranges for:

    - Normal high throws
    - Catch Throws
    - Down Throws ( I believe Vanessa has the best range with her slower executing throws)
    - Ground Throws

I believe that a character has the same range if he's attempting a normal high throw or a side throw, is it correct?

And has there been tweaks of throwing range for several characters in EVO? (It seems roughly the same to me)

From the vids it looks like Goh has an insane throwrange, not surprising considering he is Judo.

traditionally the heavies (wolf and jeff) have slightly longer throw ranges than the rest. I don't know that goh falls into the category of heavies, or even know for sure that the slight throw range bonus still exists for the big guys (now that all throws have so much range in VF4).

For catch throws, vanessa's running tackle probably is the winner. About the same is wolf's bb+P+G. For more generic throws it's wolf's HCF+P+G. Kage's uf+P+G, wolf's uf+P+G, and sarah's uf+P+G all have a lot of range.

Creed, I went back to playing VF3 a few nights ago and the short throw range drove me nuts. In VF3, are all the throw ranges the same (very short) or do the heavies have a longer range? TIA

heavies have a hair longer range.
In general it's just a little tougher to throw in previous VF's, the requirements are more strict, the range is shorter, and you need to time it well, nobody accidentally stands up into throws in VF3.

One trick that helps is to use characters with throws which have a built in crouch dash. These throws tend to be some of the strongest in the game. Using this technique you can zoom in with df,DF...P+G and land jeffry's XPD, lau's somersault slam, jacky's s.h.k., or wolf's piledriver. Goh also has an excellent df,df+P+G throw in evo, guaranteed ground punch.

Well I posted this question because I was wondering who would have the farthest reach between Goh and Jeffry.

Anyway after Goh's [3][3][P]+[G] a ground is also possible, but ground throws are now escapable...

come to think of it, doesn't that throw leave you face up and head towards? Ground throws are escapeable but I seem to recall that face up, head towards ones were not (i.e. after wolf's f,d+K MC). Maybe it's a free ground throw after all.

Seems to me it's face down head toward and in this case are ground throw escapable or not?

Well, I always see wolf landing a group throw after f,d+K, and that's definitely a face up situation (which is the opposite of what you'd expect, but the opponent rolls over just before they settle down from the foot crumple).

    Wolf's situation is weird...

Anyway I checked the pictures in the Green Book yesterday and found out that after Goh's [3][3][P]+[G] the opponent is face down. So that means the throw would be escapable...
