But sponsors will ask me a lot of questions because they do not know who you are. So you have to answer these questions as soon as you can..

How long do you want to stay in the UK?
How much do you estimate the trip will cost?
Is SEGA interested in your trip to the UK?
Are any japanese game magazines interested in your trip to the UK?
Can you send me any magazine articles about how famous you guys are in Japan?
Can you send me your VF.NET stats?
Which websites have your profiles?
Is anybody in Japan interested helping to pay for the trip?
Have you asked any of the top/famous japanese arcades to help sponsor the trip?

I know what you can do but sponsors do not.

I need proof that companies respect you and what you can do in Japan before I can get companies to sponsor your trip to the UK.

Answer these questions within 7 days to help me sort things out this end.

I had a talk with SEGA EUROPE today.
They said they are only willing to cover hotel accomodation for you 3. I have to have another chat with them in 2 weeks. Hopefully they will give a little more.

You must get me some info from Japan to help me raise more support.

Yeah, like many here, Derrick's usual style of spamming the board is irritating, but I have to respect his abilities when it comes to promoting video games and related events. This is why I usually give him the benefit of the doubt when he makes announcements.

Derrick and Steve, if you guys can pull this one off, you'll earn some serious juice. Someone in London best have a video camera to tape the matches between the London heavies and the Japanese.

Please let us know when they'll be in London. If given enough notice, I might be able to make travel arrangements to be in London at the same time (not likely, but we'll see) Derrick can then rip all american VFers by comparing them to my lack of skill... /versus/images/icons/wink.gif

 

Oh don't worry... I got hold of a camcorder so we'll be able to record the matches. Need to sort out a video studio so we can edit the footage.

I spoke to SEGA Europe. They don't even know about version C as yet.
Could you bring over a version C chip when you are coming to the UK?
I can get you the contact all we need is a courier.

 

The latest news:

We have 1 company who will pay for the flight and Hotel accomodation for 1 player only if the event is on TV.

I have been in contact with a few TV companies I will get a reply from them soon.

I have just been given an email address through to Yu Suzuki's department with a good reference. Hopefully they will be interested to support the event from Japan.
