How are you connecting? FTP client? Did you try toggling PASV mode? Have you been able to connect to my site before?

I'm having the same connection error failure and I've logged onto your server before with LeapFTP client. And I'm using the stored address that I used on a previous successful connection attempt.

However I'll continue experimenting with the PASV mode on and other things

 

I'll reboot the machine and my DSL modem when I get home. That could very well be the problem. I do see the connections getting over to my ftp server though, so it's likely a software problem.

I think your original post with "http://" rather than "ftp://" confused people.

Pasv worked also.

Nope, but I sent the world's longest snotty letter about it and got a reply within a couple of days. The company pres wants to handle this one over the phone /versus/images/icons/laugh.gif ... but really, do I expect them to redo the DSL for me? Hell no. So I'm saving up for the wireless dish, which is more like a pizza box than a dish.

 

What kinda speed will you get? My 100MB connection is still in the works. I think I was the first person to apply in my neighborhood. Hopefully they'll have word about when installation will start within a month or so.

 

dunno what speed I will get, but it beats the fuck out of 15 kbps.
A buddy up the street gets 150 kbps (wireless isn't throttled, your speed pretty much is up to how high you are and how close you are to the broadcast tower) ... if I get 100 I'll be thrilled.
