Lol, funny you jokingly mentioned this bc I've never had a prob posting a loss BUT one of the vids that I uploaded recently where I lost... I debated hard about putting up.
It's not just that it was a loss, it's that it was a 10th-straight-loss [IMG]
It was a good fight but even if you can't see the # of wins up on top of the screen you can still hear the 10-straight-wins-guitar-riff at the end of the match.
I didn't know about that guitar riff until Stompoutloud told me about it last year. Apparently, the guitar riff at the end of the match changes when you get 10-straight-wins.
According to Stomp, the guitar riff changes again at 25 straight-wins and again at 50. I've never whooped ass or got my ass whooped so bad that I ever got a chance to hear those guitar riffs though.

Anyway, that's the only time that I ever hesitated about putting up a loss. Getting whooped 10 straight is not something I'm used to. But I uploaded it anyway cuz ego and foolish pride are both overrated.

I've only experienced the victory music change after 5 and then 10 wins. I've had over 25 and it's been the same. Never been over 50 though.

So I'm callin you out stomp! Vids or it never happened! [IMG]

I remember I went digging around on the VF5 disc before and noticed that there is about 6 or 7 different win sounds.
Anyway so I went digging again

    You can here them Here

What's also funny is that there is VF4 Quest mode music on the disc. I guess they were planning to use it again..
    Cheapskates...

The hit didn't cause more than 20 points of damage

I don't think that's what the +20 points of damage in the notes section of the move list means. The attack itself takes off 10pts of damage and the throw gives 20pts. It doesn't have to connect on cH or CH in order for the hit-throw animation to occur.
Hell, you can catch an opponent with 2K+G even if they just do a regular evade towards the foreground. This will only work against an evade towards the foreground and not the background. Check it out for yourself in Dojo.

Maybe it's because the opponent isn't moving. The Akira player seems to be done with his tech-roll animation and is now crouching. You see the attack connect successfully during what appears to be the start of a low punch animation.

Goh's u+k+g/d+k+g is supposed to catch and trip evading opponents is it not? So perhaps the throw followup doesn't activate on a static opponent but rather only on a moving opponent. Not just defensive movement (like evade or OM/DM) but any attacks that have movement incorporated into them. Your feet remain grounded with low punch.

I'd have to say that that's the first time I've ever seen that move not go into the throw animation that I can remember.

I think it's cause goh's hit boxes are all fucked up. It's the only time i can remember it hitting without going into the throw. But it didn't hit a an opponent moving in the 8/2 direction.

I'll check out the evade back/foreground catch. It doesn't sound right, but i believe you all the same.

Man if jacky is a nuisance...then lucky Gt having a jacky is a nightmare [IMG] Way to hold ur own. And wow. Lucky's jacky is already bad ass (i guess i'm assuming he's new).

He is totally sitting on all ur mids. Looks to me like u needed to use brads low sweep AT LEAST once a round to loosen up that defense and make him stand still and duck. If u watch it again, it would shut down a lot of his evades/nice movement. He does alot of evade and punish that u could have snuffed out. Also, i really didn't see him duck blocking but once or twice. Low sweep will open up ur mids and give u a more even playing field all the way around. I mean, almost all ur staggers were from guaranteed staggers/charge moves (is the knee charge?), getting a few staggers from normal mids vs a ducking opponent could have been the difference.

Just make sure u have a plan for the disadv on hit of the sweep (of course).

That Goh looks really solid [IMG] Did you do it on purpose or is it just a coincidence that you rock the two VF4evo characters?

About that goh hit-throw... maybe it doesn't work on recovery CH or something [IMG]

Checked it out, but only vs eileen. I can catch her with the 2k+g when she techs/evades/or OM's to both the foreground and the background. Am i missing the meaning behind what u said? It seems like i can catch her everywhere i should be able too.

Thanks for the feedback on the fights, Social. You're right, I should use low attacks more. Only thing is that Brad has the worst low-game in VF. But still, I will def try to work some more lows in [IMG]

I guess that 2/8K+G hits different characters differently depending on their actions. I think I was trying it against Akira in Dojo and I could not catch him with it unless he evaded towards the foreground and I did 2K+G.
Were you catching Eileen with 2K+G even when setting her to evade towards the background? If so, that is very interesting *rubs chin*

Erdraug, thanks but I've only been playing Goh seriously for about a month or two now. Total coincidence that he's an Evo character. I was trying to pick a difficult character to play with and I tried Akira but he was way too difficult so I went for who I think is the second hardest to play with, Goh.

Yeah, face down head towards. Like erdraug said if you're using fall recovery when you get knocked face down head towards you want to use in place recovery and not tech roll.

Lol, I almost never post in your thread Tony, but I've been subscribed to your channel for quite some time and I watch your videos.
So in general... I enjoy them very much. Your progress throughout the months can be clearly seen. You sir, are really improving, and that's what's VF's about [IMG]
    Keep it up [IMG]
